We’re looking forward to introducing you to Elizabeth Granger. Check out our conversation below.
Elizabeth, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I love early mornings—they set the tone for my entire day. I typically begin with a quiet hour on my back porch or in my office, with a hot cup of coffee. I use this hour for prayer, reading scripture, and centering my heart and mind on what matters most. I often spend a few moments praying for the people I’ll be working with throughout the day. On most mornings, I’ll also head to my favorite local workout studio to get some movement in before heading out to a photoshoot.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in capturing families, children, and newborns. I also have the joy of working closely with interior designers to photograph their beautiful spaces. In addition to on-location sessions, I have a studio in my hometown where I create timeless heirloom portraits of children. I truly love what I do and feel incredibly grateful for the families and talented business owners I get to work with and meet through this work.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad has been one of my greatest examples of what it means to work hard with humility. He approaches every task—no matter how big or small—with quiet diligence and rarely, if ever, complains. What I admire most is his ability to work with excellence while also knowing when to set work aside and be fully present with his family. He’s achieved a great deal in his career, but he’s never one to seek the spotlight. He’s poured just as much effort into his marriage, our family, his home, and his community as he has into his professional life. I respect him deeply for that and strive to carry those same values into my own life and work.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering is something we all face at some point, and for me, it’s a humbling reminder that I’m not in control. One of the greatest sources of comfort in difficult seasons has been shifting my focus outward—toward others. It’s easy to fall into self-pity, but I’ve found that choosing to serve and love others, even in the midst of my own pain, brings purpose and healing. There’s deep value in offering the same comfort to others that we ourselves have received.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I deeply admire my husband’s character—it’s what first attracted me to him. He has a servant-hearted nature, carries himself with humility, and consistently puts others before himself. He’s steady, grounded, and the kind of person whose character remains the same no matter where he is or who he’s with.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace on my back porch, in the quiet of the mornings with a cup of coffee.
