Harrison Russell of Buckhead on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Harrison Russell and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Harrison, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Right now I feel like I’m truly being called to stray away from old habits and push myself to levels of discipline I know I can reach. I always felt like if I changed certain things then I wouldn’t be me but at some point you really do have to grow up and do what’s necessary over what may be easy or fun.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Harrison Russell and I’m an actor and writer currently based in Atlanta. Right now I’m currently writing a feature film titled “Consent”. It’s a workplace thriller that eventually turns into a Neo noir epic. It’s pretty ambitious but I’m hoping to have it finished soon. On the acting side of things I just wrapped on a feature film where I had the opportunity to complete my first supporting lead role.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Thankfully I truly believe I’m still that same naive kid that never believed what anyone told me I had to be. I feel like I’ve always been blessed with knowing who I am and what I’ve wanted and I’ve never really let the world influence me in that way.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I almost give up every week.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
It’s gonna sound cliche but I’m going to say myself. Because I truly feel like if we can all on an individual level just stay committed to working on ourselves in a truthful way, only good things can come from that. And that’s all I want in the end so I’m committed to bettering myself so I can ultimately help others in the process.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Probably my sense of humor. But I’m alright with that.
