Story & Lesson Highlights with Tina Torres-Wilson of Woodstock

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tina Torres-Wilson. Check out our conversation below.

Tina, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
“I feel like I’m being called to take up more space and step fully into the role of a leader who empowers other women to do the same. For years, I stayed small—afraid of judgment, afraid of failing, afraid of being ‘too much.’

Now, I’m leaning into visibility in a whole new way. I’m saying yes to opportunities that scare me a little, like speaking on bigger stages, hosting live events, and building movements around the books and brands we help create. It’s not just about me anymore—it’s about creating spaces where women feel safe to share their stories and step into their God-given purpose.

Honestly? It’s scary sometimes. But I know there’s no growth in comfort zones, and the more I show up, the more permission I give others to do the same.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“Hi, I’m Tina Torres-Wilson, the CEO and founder of Pink Door Marketing Agency and a self-publishing coach who’s obsessed with helping women turn their stories into bestselling books and powerful brands.

My journey hasn’t been an easy one. Six years ago, I lost everything—a 20-year abusive marriage ended, I became an empty nester, and I had to completely start over in a city where I didn’t know anyone. But through faith, perseverance, and a whole lot of prayer, I rebuilt my life and my business from the ground up.

At Pink Door, we do more than just help women publish books. We help them write their story with confidence, launch it with strategy, and leverage it to create impact and income. What makes us unique is how hands-on we are—we’re not a ‘one-and-done’ publishing company. We’re your cheerleaders, your strategy team, and your brand builders all rolled into one.

Right now, I’m putting the final touches on my upcoming book Write. Publish. Profit., launching in September, and expanding our programs like 120 Days to Best Seller and Passion to Profit Academy. Everything I do is built around one belief: your story matters, and it deserves to be told in a way that changes lives—including yours.”

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The version of me who felt like she had to do it all alone. For so many years—especially after surviving an abusive marriage—I was in survival mode. I was independent to a fault, always thinking I had to hustle harder, be strong for everyone else, and figure everything out by myself.

That part of me served its purpose, it kept me alive and moving forward when I needed it most. But it also kept me from receiving help, love, and support. Today, I’m learning to release that version of me and embrace the fact that I don’t have to do life alone anymore. I can lean on my faith, on my husband, and on my incredible community. There’s so much freedom in that.”

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
“For a long time, fear of not being enough held me back. I was in an abusive marriage for 20 years, and that took a huge toll on my confidence and mindset. When you hear for years that you’re not good enough, smart enough, or capable enough, you start to believe it.

After leaving that marriage, I had to do a lot of work on my mindset. I had to remind myself daily that I am enough, that my past doesn’t define me, and that I can build the life I’ve always dreamed of. It wasn’t easy, but shifting into a positive mindset changed everything for me—not just in business, but in how I see myself. Now I teach other women how to do the same, because I know how powerful it is when you finally believe in yourself.”

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
“They’d probably tell you that I care deeply about helping women step into their purpose and share their story. I’m all about impact and legacy. I believe God gave us our stories for a reason—and I want to help as many women as possible realize that what they’ve been through can inspire and change lives.

My friends would also say I’m fiercely loyal and that my family means the world to me. I want the people I love (and the women I work with) to know that they are seen, they are worthy, and that their voice matters. That’s what drives everything I do, whether I’m coaching an author through their first book or just cheering a friend on through a tough season.”

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
“Most people don’t realize how truly life-changing it can be to write and share their story. We carry so many experiences, struggles, and even victories inside of us that we think are ‘just ours.’ But the moment you put those words on paper, you not only begin healing parts of yourself, you give someone else permission to heal too.

I’ve seen time and time again that your story is someone else’s survival guide. Even the parts you think are messy or unworthy—those are usually the parts someone else needs to hear the most. Writing your story isn’t just about creating a book, it’s about creating impact. And the beautiful thing? When you share it, you never know who you’re inspiring. One sentence in your book could be the exact hope someone else was praying for.”
