Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela (Angie) Fair.
Hi Angela (Angie), so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Jumping into this business wasn’t exactly on my to-do list. But sometimes, the things we never planned are exactly what we’re meant for.
My story really started in the kitchen. My husband and I often hosted holidays, our anniversary parties, and New Year’s Eve gatherings at our home — celebrations that were mostly centered on food, with just a touch of décor. Along the way, I found myself drawn to floral arrangements, sometimes selling them or gifting them for weddings.
Things shifted after becoming a grandmother. I have three sons, and my middle son made me a grandmother with twin granddaughters. I started planning their themed birthday parties, and that’s when I really began blending food, décor, and creativity. Several years later, my oldest son came to me and asked if I would do the baby shower for the mother of his first child. I poured my heart into it, turning our living and dining room into a beautiful celebration space. When I later did the same for his birthday, his mom told me I had a gift — and even purchased my very first backdrop as encouragement.
A coworker who attended that party echoed the same sentiment and even suggested the name Classy Affairs. I liked it, but I wanted something more unique. I styled it as ClassyAFairs — with the “A” for Angie and only one “F,” so it’s actually my last name Fair plus an “s,” as a play on the word affairs.
If I was really going to consider this as more than a hobby, I knew I needed to dig a little deeper. I enrolled in Luxe Academy and earned my certification in Event Planning. During the course, my mentor suggested I add by Angie to the business name I had already chosen, which gave it the final touch.
Later, I took an in-person, hands-on course where we worked a live wedding — everything from floral centerpieces to tablescapes, setup, and breakdown. It was during that training that my mentor also encouraged me to adopt the tagline Eye for Elegance, which I’ve carried forward as part of my brand.
In 2022, my middle son got engaged, and I had the honor of planning, coordinating, and decorating his wedding. That experience confirmed for me that this was truly my calling. About a year later, I found myself back at the venue where the wedding was held for a mixer, and the owner remembered me. One Saturday morning she reached out to ask if I was available to assist with an event that day, and of course I obliged. From there, I was invited to help with additional events. Having industry professionals recognize my talent gave me the confidence to finally take the leap.
In August 2023, I officially launched ClassyAFairs by Angie. Since then, I’ve continued to grow through design opportunities at both local and out-of-state venues, as well as by joining Dream Room Venue as a designer and member of their travel team, and becoming a Certified Master Wedding & Event Planner. Those experiences exposed me to remarkable spaces such as The Strand, The Castle at Wildwood Gardens, and Eagles Landing Country Club. Being trusted to contribute to events in such high-profile settings has allowed me to sharpen my skills, stay current with fresh trends, and see firsthand the level of excellence clients expect.
One of my proudest moments since launching was my very first official wedding — an emerald green, black, and gold celebration I call Garden Glam. The highlight video from that event has already received more than 4,600 views on social media, a reminder that people truly connect with the experiences I create. Seeing clients’ and guests’ “wow” reactions in person, and then watching that joy extend online, fuels me to keep pushing forward.
I’ll never forget FaceTiming my mentor from Luxe Academy just before the couple’s room reveal. I wanted her to see what I had created, and she screamed with excitement as I walked her through the design. Later, she asked me to send her photos so she could feature me on her YouTube channel as a student spotlight — and she’s even highlighted my signature triangle chandelier centerpiece (affectionately known as Ms. Thang) as an example of creative design in action. Those moments validated that I was on the right path.
Today, while ClassyAFairs is still in its early stages, I’m steadily growing — expanding my portfolio, connecting with clients, and refining my craft. My goal is simple: to create experiences that make people feel celebrated. The greatest joy for me will always be seeing the look on someone’s face when they walk into a room and see their vision come to life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s true for any new business. One of the earliest challenges was simply believing in myself enough to take the leap. Even now, I face the reality of balancing time — between building my business, working a full-time job, and being present for my family.
Another ongoing challenge is building a dependable team. I want to get to the point where I don’t have to direct every single detail myself, but that requires time, training, and trust. I know the value of having a strong team behind me, and that’s an area I’m continuing to grow.
Visibility is also a challenge. Most of my events so far have been for people who know me personally, but my goal is to expand beyond that and connect with new clients. With the rollout of my new website and the marketing campaigns I’ve been working on, I’m excited to position ClassyAFairs in front of a wider audience.
What I want people to know is that even with these challenges, I am fully capable of executing their vision. Each event makes me stronger, more confident, and more committed to creating the kind of beauty and joy that inspired me to start this journey in the first place.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
ClassyAFairs by Angie is a full-service event planning and décor company based in Woodstock, Georgia. I specialize in creating elegant, customized celebrations—weddings, milestone birthdays, corporate galas, and even cruise experiences. At the heart of my work, though, it’s really about creating experiences that make people feel celebrated.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance creativity with practicality. My professional background spans nearly two decades in food service and retail management, including leadership roles at Hardee’s and McDonald’s, where I thrived in high-volume, fast-paced environments. Those years taught me how to lead teams, juggle multiple responsibilities, and stay ready for anything. Later, as a Retail Specialist, I was responsible for styling displays and ensuring brand standards were met—an experience that sharpened my eye for detail and presentation. Combined with later roles in analysis and sales account management, these experiences taught me how to stay organized, manage details, and truly understand people’s needs. Together with my certifications, hands-on training, and natural eye for design, those skills allow me to tailor each event so it reflects the client’s story, style, and vision.
One of my proudest moments was my very first official wedding as ClassyAFairs—an emerald green, black, and gold celebration I call Garden Glam. The highlight video from that event has already received more than 4,600 views on social media, a reminder that people connect with the experiences I create. Seeing clients’ and guests’ “wow” reactions in person, and then watching that joy extend online, fuels me to keep pushing forward.
Most recently, in January 2025, I designed the décor for my first official travel event — a 60th birthday celebration in Florida. That experience confirmed for me that ClassyAFairs can create lasting memories not only in Georgia, but anywhere life’s important moments call for celebration.
At the end of the day, my greatest joy is helping people celebrate life’s most meaningful milestones with beauty, intention, and unforgettable detail — because every celebration deserves to shine. That’s the ClassyAFairs Way.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The event planning industry is moving toward deeper personalization and immersive experiences. Over the next decade, I see clients wanting celebrations that are more than beautiful—they’ll want events that tell their story. That means bold statement pieces, dramatic floral installations, personalized dancefloors, and lounge-style settings that feel like “a scene within a scene.” Those touches create memories that last. Technology will keep shaping the industry, from digital planning tools to interactive entertainment like 360 booths and social-media-ready photo moments. At the same time, sustainability will remain a priority, with eco-friendly décor options, rentals, and mindful catering choices becoming the norm.
Another shift I see is a growing demand for planners who can blend creativity with structure. Clients want someone who can execute a vision beautifully while also managing all the behind-the-scenes details so they can fully enjoy their day.
Looking further ahead, one concept I’m excited to explore is Celebrate Like Royalty™—pairing a land-based event with a sea celebration. Imagine hosting your wedding, milestone, or special event on land, and then extending the joy with a cruise “after-party,” so to speak. On board, you can indulge in spa services, enjoy dinner with attentive waitstaff, sip cocktails poolside, take in live entertainment, or simply relax without the worries of cooking and clean-up. For those who want to keep the energy high, the cruise itself becomes a continuation of the celebration.
This has been a milestone year for me, and I experienced this firsthand— celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary a few months ago, then most recently my 60th birthday party, followed by a cruise just days later. It reminded me how powerful it is to extend life’s biggest moments in unforgettable ways.
As I grow ClassyAFairs, I plan to stay ahead by continuing to learn, collaborate with other professionals, and bring fresh, elegant ideas to the table. My focus will always be on making sure my clients feel celebrated and cared for.
