Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas Poole.
Hi Douglas , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, I got my insurance license in 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana, which is where I really started learning the business and building my foundation as an agent. In 2022 I made the move to the Atlanta Metropolitan area. It was a big change, but it opened the door for new opportunities and allowed me to connect with a much larger and diverse community. Since then I’ve been able to grow tremendously both personally and professionally. Today I’m proud to be one of the many top agents with Humana helping seniors find the right coverage and making a difference in their healthcare decisions. It’s been an exciting journey and I’m grateful for the path that’s brought me here..
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many agents starting out, I had to overcome the challenges of building a client base from scratch and learning how to navigate all the moving parts of the health insurance world. When I relocated to Atlanta in 2022, it meant starting over in a new market where I didn’t have the same network or connections. That was tough at first, but it pushed me to really get out, meet people, and find ways to add value to the community. Those challenges ended up making me stronger and more resourceful, and ultimately they helped me grow into the agent I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In my role as a Medicare health insurance advisor , I specialize in helping Medicare beneficiaries understand their options and choose the coverage that best fit their health and financial needs. What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve been able to build with my clients. Many of them tell me they appreciate the way I take time to explain things in simple terms and make sure they feel confident in their decisions. I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just see myself as selling a plan I see myself as building a long-term relationship. I’m there to guide clients not just during enrollment, but year after the year as their needs change. That consistency and personal connection is what I’ve become known for, and it’s why so many of my clients refer their friends and family to me.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that might surprise people is that I’m also an aspiring voice artist. I’ve always had an interest in using my voice to tell stories and connect with people in a different way. It’s a passion project for me outside of insurance, but it actually ties in nicely with my work because in both areas communication is key whether I’m helping someone understand their Medicare options or bringing a script to life behind a microphone. I love using my voice to make things clear, relatable, and engaging.
Also my wife is the owner of Keedra’s Kitchen and was also featured in this publication as well.
