Exploring Life & Business with Stephanie Conkle of Clear Life Results Hypnotherapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Conkle.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been interested in hypnosis since childhood, when my dad would experiment with hypnosis on me (after he was healed from symptoms of chronic insomnia), and from seeing hypnotists on television shows and cartoons. I was told by some people with “authority” and the Church (I was brought up in the South) that it was evil and should not be used, so I became irrationally afraid of it in my teenage years when it should have been the most fun…until I was reintroduced to hypnotism in college by a stage hypnotist.

My career in hypnotism began when I wanted to use hypnosis for my own self-development and peace of mind. I suddenly began experiencing a terrible fear of flying after my first child was born, and I had suffered from OCD since childhood, had mild depression, and mental blocks to success.

After I was finally convinced hypnosis can only be used for good, and that I could accept or reject any commands given in trance, I began using hypnosis to treat not just my symptoms…but the root cause of my problems. Because hypnosis resulted in such great and amazing benefits for me, I began studying hypnotism because I wanted to learn the power behind it to one day help others.

However, it was only a hobby for me for many years after that. I knew how to do street hypnosis (party tricks like getting people stuck to the wall with only their mind), but I wanted to go deeper and really help people who were hurting or struggling with issues like I had been.

Eventually, I became frustrated with my uninspired corporate job and decided to change careers to something that would be beneficial and rewarding to both myself and others. I set the intention for the perfect vocation for me for my life’s journey and waited for the response. I started out life coaching others and thought hypnosis would really be beneficial to them, but I needed to learn it in-depth.

I knew hypnosis was something I could do and enjoy for the rest of my life…and something other people really needed. I knew I wanted to help others succeed in life–not just myself! I enrolled in hypnosis school and found out that I already knew a lot about hypnotism from all the self-studying I had done earlier. And I found it came naturally to me once I started practicing on people. My life coaching practice transformed into a hypnotherapy practice very soon after that. I began seeing my first paying hypnosis clients at home in my own living room! From there, I quickly opened my own hypnotherapy and success coaching practice in Alpharetta (now Milton) in 2008, and then eventually moved to Woodstock to be closer to home. Then, I added online telehealth sessions so anyone around the world could work with me.

I am now developing products for my website, speaking about hypnosis at conferences, teaching hypnosis courses here and abroad, and writing self-help books. I am expanding every day, which is always full of renewed hope, joy, and prosperity. I am continually learning and furthering my education every year as my business continues to grow and expand. Now that I have found my bliss and peace of mind…my greatest desire is to help other people find theirs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were definitely challenges getting started. Because people had not been educated about hypnotism back then, and because I live in the Bible Belt, I got rejected from renting offices. The first people I contacted wanted nothing to do with a hypnotist, as they believed it was a type of sorcery. Hypnotism has had tons of research proving that it is brain-based and neurological, and I only use hypnosis in a therapeutic setting to help people change what they cannot change with willpower alone by getting access to the subconscious mind. It might appear like magic to the untrained, but it’s all brain-based. It’s just really powerful. Things that people can’t explain are often categorized as supernatural. And while I personally hold spiritual beliefs, I never impose them on others. I use scientific, brain-based approaches. Certainly not sorcery….but that ‘would’ be cool if I had that kind of power. The power of hypnosis comes from within the client. I am only a guide, a facilitator, a mediator between the conscious and subconscious mind.

We’ve been impressed with Clear Life Results Hypnotherapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m an award-winning, Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Hypnosis Instructor, NLP Master Practitioner, and Success Coach. My passion is helping people tap into the power of their subconscious mind to achieve emotional well-being and personal excellence—quickly, effectively, and often in surprisingly fun and inspiring ways.

One of the areas closest to my heart is working with PTSD. It’s something the world deeply needs help with, and I’ve seen firsthand how hypnosis can make profound healing possible in ways that feel easier than many expect.

I’ve been fascinated by the brain and human potential for as long as I can remember, and I love guiding people through breakthroughs of all kinds—from unlocking creativity, to overcoming fears and phobias, to making healthy changes like weight loss or quitting smoking. Using tools like Hypnosis, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), I help people interrupt old patterns and rewire their subconscious programming so they can live with more freedom, ease, and joy.

My training has taken me around the world to learn from some of the very best hypnotists and clinical hypnotherapists. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University, certifications from the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy (ICBCH) and the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT), and I’m honored to have been personally mentored by Roy Hunter in the client-centered approach to hypnotherapy. I also specialize in Sexual Freedom Hypnosis, Past Life Regression, and I teach my own method of deep trance hypnosis—the Profound Somnambulism Protocol (PSP)—which has become recognized internationally.

I’m proud to be a member in good standing of professional organizations including the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA), the ICBCH, the International Hypnosis Federation (IHF), and the American Alliance of Hypnotists (AAH). Each year, I continue my education and training to stay current, sharp, and inspired—because helping people create meaningful, lasting change is more than my career, it’s my calling.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’ve helped more than a thousand people heal with hypnosis, and the most valuable lesson I have learned from thousands of hours of therapy is the following: 1. You have the power to heal yourself with only your mind. 2. Unforgiveness is the cause of most chronic illnesses 3. Hurt people hurt people. Healed people heal people. 4. Love is what folks need to be genuinely happy (especially self-love), yet many people push it away and try to fill the void with anything else, which leads to all kinds of addictions and compulsive behaviors.
