Today we’d like to introduce you to Masika McCormick.
Hi Masika, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started in college. It was the last day of the lst class and the last assignment were we had to demonstrate our experience of our years at school. So i made a 5 min video of my experience at Alverno College from freshman to graduation. You can find it on youtube. I haven’t put down the camera since. Now I have a film out on TUbi called Feel my pain. I wrote, produced Shot edited, and marketed this film. Because I did everything, I missed some key things. I needed a team. A full team and now i have that. I have been writing films for years but never worked on anything because i didn’t know how to put it all together professionally until i put money into my education. YEars after alverno i went back to school to MATC. Graduated one of the top of my class but i was always working on other people project and not my own. But now i’m working on my stuff. I also work with a film production company called Dream Empire here is atlanta. Ive done tv commercial with NBA star to NFL players. I worked back stage and recorded Donnie MCklurlin, Yolanda adams. did a tv show with David and tamala man. I Had my host interview FIlm Director F Gery grey. Im now pouring into myself and its starting to blossom. Im now working on a tv pilot called Stud life with shay and Its going to be big. We are now raising funds.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth road? no. THe struggle is real. I have been at this for so long but im still here and thats the most important part. I cant give up. Even after loosing my mom, grand mother and bff all within one year time frame and me selling my house and being depressed for over 2 years I had to get myself together. Im here now and doing great things.

I do several things. I am know as a Writer, Producer and Director but i also marketI want people to know how their clients see them, how they see themselves and how and how they see their clients vision. We just don’t video tape people we make them come aloved. What sets me apart is me staying ahead of the game. I know how to get people to do things for me and think of my cast members as a team. The most I am proud of is seeing other prosper from what i taught them. ALso accomplishing my own goals of completing things i have started. Making my mom and dad proud of me. I want people to know that Uvea Marketing Agency means three things. Allowing you to see your clients, allowing your clients to see you and allowing you to see yourself for the boss you are. Uvea is part of the eyeball. there are three parts of the eyeball that allows you to see. that is why i named my company Uvea Marketing Agency. Whenever I do film I am teaching people how to produce, direct, camera work, editing or script writing. Im always teaching which is a blessing. SO thats rewarding in its self.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is filming. Meeting new people and knowing I’m following my dreams to be the best producer and director I can be. Making my parents proud of me really makes me happy and helping my friends and family achieve their life goals makes me happy. I love film. Everything about it i love. Event he bad parts.
