Hi LaVerne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been an entrepreneur for many years, starting as a child with my first street candy store/lemonade stand, working in my Uncle’s corner candy store, multiple fields of Independent Business Ownership opportunities, a Tax preparer, assisting new entrepreneurs in legally establishing their business entities for many, many years. I was extensively trained in the Marketplace and in Ministry most of my life and for that, I am grateful, thankful and appreciative.
In 2020, during the closing down of the world, I made a career shift. I focused on financial and career mentorship which helped me to discover a meaningful aspiration in the Marketplace where I get to witness positive contributions in the lives of people and families. This decision gives me a sense of reward and accomplishment with all that I have acquired in my personal entrepreneurial journey.
In 2025, I became a Certified Signing Agent Notary! Ive been a General Notary for over 12 years, not knowing there was an entire field of uptapped resources for Notaries. Dimensions of you life are revealed when you are ready to receive and appreciate them to see them through.
I was blessed to connect with 2 Mentor groups the past 5 years that guided and helped me navigate through unchartered waters in my career path. The beauty and value of acquiring personal mentorship; they help you discover what was in your hands all along. They help you to extract all of the hidden treasures you possess but are burried. They help you dig them out, polish them off and send you out to shine! Shout out to M3G and Carla Cherry for being the mentors I needed in this season of my life and career path! Mentorship is necessary for growth and personal development to get to the next dimensions of your life and career path.
The Notary and Certifications Training I received, shout out to the LSS with Mark Wills and the NNA, brought a level of confidence I have not experienced in a very, very long time. I am more in control of what I have to offer because the client mentality and industries Notaries service, is on another level. We take the time to help people who are ready to structure and really get serious about their present and future lives.
It gave me the ability to see where I can really leave a mark on the lives of people that will help them acquire two of the most important decisions they will make in lives – acquiring a home, property and establishing their estate legacies for themselves and their families for generations.
I have the opportunity to experience seeing families be at peace when they have made these major decisions that will carry them through the raising of their children in a home they will remember for the rest of their lives, having memorable experiences with their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, the hassle of wondering what is going to happen to their personal belongings they have acquired over the years, and the ability to leave an inheritance – small or great – to their children’s children. Those concerns, that when they receive the legal care they need, they are relieved and can focus more on the things that are truly important, living their lives to the fullest.
When they walk away with their estate planning notebook in their hands – properties, belongings, health directives, or holding the mortgage package and keys to their new home, properties they have been dreaming of, holding the lives they have built for themselves and their families in their possession, gives a feeling for them and for me, that is indescribable! They are at peace in knowing that what they hold in their hands – their lives and futures – I hold back the tears by making my smile bigger because I get to share in their joy.
I get to help educate people of the importance of acquiring the right resources to obtain their first home, investment properties, and/or land to begin establishing their wealth preservation plan. I also get to help those that may not have millions or billions but they do have possessions that are valuable, even priceless to them and assist them by referring them all to legal resources of legal professionals who have a heart for what they do for their Clients.
I get to work with the Real Estate and Estate Planning Attorneys, Realtors, Mortgage Lenders, Escrow and Title Officers – knowing that my signature, stamp or witness had something to do with aiding them in obtaining a peace of mind for their Clients, their lives and their future plans, is PRICELESS to me.
My heart gets so full of joy when I see that my role as a Certified Signing Agent Notary or a Witness to their decisions have made an impact that brought them happiness, peace, comfort and assurance in their decisions about their personal matters.
I look forward to bridging the gaps between Clients and Legal Professionals so that everyone’s legal experiences are fulfilling. And, when we get up everyday we will know we have accomplished something really great and wonderful for people and families as we navigate through the waters of our futures.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My greatest challenge and struggle was coming to the knowledge and learning that I deserve to be blessed and to have the desires of my heart. It hindered my entrepreneurial journey deeply. God’s faithfulness to me never waivered. He always kept me around millionaires and billionaires so that I could see what it looked like, especially for people of color and women.
So many people in my entrepreneurial jouney encouraged me but I had to come out of my own self effort of trying to make things happen and trust that God will do it for ME! I believed Him for all of my Clients over the years, served them and watch them bloom and grow. I accepted that as my life’s reward but God had more for ME.
As I forestated, Mentorship is a necessity in your career paths and choices. I am in a place in my life now where I SEE it for ME and when becoming a Certified Signing Agent Notary training and certification came my way, I found the niche I was looking for. Something a Pastor said to me recently turned the light bulb of hope in me. I never heard it said this way before. When God surrounds you with millionaires and billionaires, and the type of people that bring life to you, its because that is what you are to become in your life. All of the seeds that have been sown in me, the healing that came with those seeds – the watering, is now beginning to grow a harvest that will position me in the place I am now ready to receive and walk in.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
No matter the industry you find yourself in, look for the best in your industry with DOCUMENTED proof of who they are. They must be FINDABLE not just famous. You should be able to reach out and truly connect to the people whose lives they changed for the better.
They should have the morals, standards, character, integrity, honor, respect, manners and ethics you admire because you will need all of these things to take you and sustain you into the dimensions and levels of your career and personal deelopment. They should have a testimony that you can see the fruit of their experiences – transparancy and authenticity.
Face-to-face networking is best. People want to experience your presence among them. People only do business with people they know and trust. Building relationships is the only REAL currency. There will never be a substitute for that no matter our technological advances.
Be a giver, not just a taker. You will be easily spotted anyway by genuine people so don’t fake the funk. You give quality, committed services, the money will chase you down and overtake you.
