Today we’d like to introduce you to ASONITE .
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Everyone in my family is creative, from my mother, to my siblings, to me. My brothers started producing at a young age, and eventually I free-styled and wrote to one of my brothers beats, showed it to my neighbor and he loved it, he told me to show it to my uncle and he loved it, since then I’ve been going with music. Growing up when I listened to songs, in my head I would make my own remixes, changing the melodies of the beat and voice, changing the word and flows and even the topic of the songs, so when the thought of me becoming an artist started to foster I was confident that I was capable of being that. I’m a songwriter, producer and model. Born in Queens New York, raised in Atlanta and partly in Nigeria my influences are from all over the globe from multiple cultures but my most strongest influences are from the underground rap scene, pop, rnb, Nigerian heritage music style’s I grew up on and synth wave styles. With my father being murdered during a bank robbery at 2 years old, reality came quick with a mother of 4 depressed about her dead lover and struggling to make ends meet as an immigrant, she would play reggae, old school rnb, pop, soul, blues, gospel, afro beats and rap. At a young age I would listen and get accommodated to artist such as Dido, Jessica Simpson, Maddona, Maxi priest, Majek fashek, Toni Braxton, 2 PAC, Chaka Khan and more. I have dabbled and produced in genres like house, pop, indie, rap, rage, rock, and Afro beats but my core sound leans towards experimental / modern trap / rap, with a kind of cyberpunk / futuristic aesthetic in my music and maybe visuals. I do consistent live concerts where my fan base continues to grow. I’ve produced for names such ass cross vision who is a huge influence in Atlantas music scene and culture. I’ve performed at underground shows featuring some buzzing names such as Digital Nas, Lil gnar, Tony Shnow, Yellabandana, and Atl smook.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, I struggled with anxiety, paranoia and anger issues growing up. I always felt like a misfit, someone that doesn’t fit into societies norm no matter how much I tried, I got grasped by the lawless subculture of an oppressive society dominated by a corrupt government system but I always stood up for being myself, and not conforming just because of societal pressures or feeling accepted. The purest representation of this to me was portrayed as an outlaw or punk in which I aligned myself with. Which led to me to getting into multiple fights, reckless behavior, bringing weapons to school which almost caused me to get sent to a juvenile detention center in middle school and later on in life jail. Since then, I’ve had immense self reflection and intrapersonal communication. I’ve grown mentally, physically and spiritually.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create music that blends rap, trap, and experimental sounds with a futuristic, cyberpunk edge. I specialize in building immersive sonic worlds where heavy beats, glitchy textures, and raw lyricism come together. My work is known for pushing boundaries sonically and visually, making each release feel like part of a larger universe. I’m most proud of staying authentic to my vision and carving out a sound that feels original in a crowded music space. My recent project CYBER PUNK VOL. 1 is a milestone because it represents both my growth as an artist and my ability to create a full concept-driven project. Beyond streams or recognition, I’m proud every time a listener tells me that my music made them feel understood, energized, or inspired because I’m literally putting my ideas out into the ether for anyone and anything to judge. What sets me apart is my commitment to merging storytelling with futuristic sound design. I’m not just dropping songs, I’m building experiences that feel cinematic and transport listeners to another world. My style blends gritty New York influences with a digital, almost sci-fi aesthetic, which makes my music stand out. I also take pride in being hands-on with my craft, from writing and recording to producing and shaping the overall vibe of my projects. I’ve worked with my friends/artist and producers such as Mo Beats who is a viral Tik Tok sensation, Voltage, Nimstarr, and Nolo.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was very active, I was quiet but loved to have fun with my friends and family, I love comedians, so I naturally became a jokester everywhere I went, at least when you get to know me. Iv’e been described as funny, caring and intelligent by peers. In my early years I was in was in s.t.e.m and French club, then high school I played football, ran track, while working two jobs in high school and selling snacks in school. So I would say I was always interested in life itself trying new experiences and seeing what I can learn along the way.
