Hi Terri, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
About Terrific Mobile Notary Services
Terrific Mobile Notary Services was founded in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and while I was recovering from breast cancer surgery. The idea sparked when we were refinancing our home and met with a Notary Public who shared how flexible, rewarding, and convenient the profession could be. It also allowed me to focus on other things aside from my recovery and treatments.
Intrigued, I researched the requirements, completed the necessary paperwork, obtained insurance, registered my business, and gathered all the supplies I needed to get started. Soon after, Terrific Mobile Notary Services was born.
Five years later, I continue to enjoy the flexibility this business provides. I have the freedom to choose when, where, and with whom I work—making it the perfect part-time business that allows me to supplement my full-time income while still having balance and “play money” for life’s extras.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The only true obstacle has been overcoming my shyness when meeting new and different people all the time and approaching people and businesses for marketing purposes. I can usually talk to ANYONE and once I break the ice, I can talk all day! But making the initial contact has been a challenge.
Also, this business got oversaturated with notaries during the same time period. This resulted in there being a Mobile Notary almost everywhere you look. The trick has been to remain professional and available…along with fun and friendly!

Choosing a name was no small task. After brainstorming options and even gathering votes from friends and family, Terri decided to incorporate her own name into the brand—creating TerriFic Mobile Notary Services. The result is a name that’s not only memorable, but also reflects the personal care and professionalism we bring to every signing.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband, children and friends have always been supportive with sharing ideas, allowing me to bounce ideas around with them, encouraging me when I became discouraged and pushing me forward. In fact, my husband is trying to get me to open a storefront! He has even been looking at properties for future locations.
I joined a few Facebook groups that were available as resources for new notaries. They included seasoned notaries who were eager to share what they have learned in the business.
Also, each county’s Clerk of Superior Court’s office is where you submit your notary application and get sworn in, if your application is accepted and approved and you complete training. The Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority also proves guidance as well as the National Notary Association.
