Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Cyrus.
Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Atlanta in my early 20’s for a corporate job in media sales. I rented a studio apartment in Buckhead so small none of my furniture would fit. Everyone was buying and selling on Craigslist back then so I listed my furniture online, sold it and had my ah-ha moment. I started buying furniture, art and home decor I knew I could flip online and storing it all in my studio apartment.
I eventually collected a large enough inventory that I outgrew the apartment and started renting booths at antique shops and at shows like the Scott Antique Market. I soon quit my corporate job to start learning the furniture business. I took part time jobs at furniture stores, art galleries and auction houses until I finally landed my dream job managing a showroom at ADAC.
Working at ADAC allowed me to form relationships with some of the most well known interior designers and learn the luxury side of the business. As those relationships grew designers would ask me if they could put pieces they needed to sell in my booths or if I could market items for them online. This was the beginning of Sarah Cyrus Home as I inched my way into opening my own brick and mortar consignment shop. We are so proud to have celebrated our 11th year and we couldn’t be more excited for the future of the shop.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started my business when I started my family. Those early years were a grind. My daughter was born two weeks before COVID shut down all businesses for months. I was home with a newborn and had to wonder is this how my dream of owning a shop ends? We survived. There have been great years and tough years but never a moment of doubt in the future of our business.
As you know, we’re big fans of Sarah Cyrus Home. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

We are also proud to offer our entire inventory on our website and ship nationwide.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
If it were not for the support and blind faith of my husband I’d still be renting booths and peddling my finds. He never hesitated to give me his blessing and full support. He will always be my biggest cheerleader.
I owe my friend, co worker and store manager Allyn Stewart the utmost of credit and gratitude for building this business with me. Allyn is a master of mixing styles and I’m so lucky to have her in my life.
