Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryson Hollingshead.
Hi Bryson, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey really started with a love for building. I grew up with a hands-on mindset and found myself drawn to construction work early on. Working for other contractors gave me the skills to handle everything from framing to finishes, but more importantly, it showed me the value of craftsmanship done right.
Over time, I realized homeowners needed more than just someone who could swing a hammer — they needed a contractor who would listen, communicate clearly, and stand behind the work. That’s why I started TruBuilt Renovations. My vision was simple: treat every project as if I were building it for my own family.
I’ve built my reputation one job at a time. Those roots in craftsmanship still guide everything I do today. Whether it’s a full remodel or a small repair, I want clients to feel confident that the work will be done right, with pride and care. For me, TruBuilt isn’t just about getting projects— it’s about building trust and lasting relationships in the community.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I actually started my career out in California, but when I moved to Georgia, I had to start completely over. I didn’t have a client base, connections, or really much to fall back on — it was like hitting reset on everything I had built before.
On top of that, starting a business while supporting a family has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. There were times when the workload, the financial pressure, and the responsibility of making sure my family was taken care of all weighed heavily. It’s not easy to take that leap of faith when people are depending on you.
But those struggles have also shaped me. They forced me to dig deeper, stay persistent, and hold onto the belief that if I built this business the right way — with honesty, craftsmanship, and integrity — it will pay off. Looking back, the challenges have been just as important as the wins because they’ve shaped who I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in residential remodeling and renovation work here in Georgia. From kitchens and bathrooms to full home updates, our focus is always on quality craftsmanship and treating each project as if we were building it for our own family.
What sets us apart is the way we approach the process. Renovations can be stressful for homeowners, and I’ve seen too many people left frustrated by contractors who don’t communicate or don’t deliver what was promised. At TruBuilt, we put honesty, clear communication, and integrity at the center of every job. I want my clients to feel confident that not only will the work be done right, but that they’ll be kept in the loop every step of the way.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’re building. We’ve grown one project at a time, by word of mouth and by earning the trust of families in the community. That trust means everything to me. At the end of the day, we’re not just renovating homes — we’re building long-term relationships and creating spaces where families can truly feel at home.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Atlanta is the opportunity it represents. It’s a major hub that continues to grow, and being close to that kind of energy creates a lot of potential for business owners like me. I know that many people move to the Atlanta area for work and life, and that growth filters outward into the surrounding communities too.
What I like least is probably how crowded it can feel. I haven’t spent a ton of time in the city itself, and every time I do go in, the traffic and fast pace remind me why I love being based here in Griffin. It gives me the best of both worlds—I can stay connected to the opportunities Atlanta creates, but I get to focus my business on serving families and homeowners in communities that still feel more personal and grounded.
