Exploring Life & Business with Mitishela St Jean of Linked Hearts Weddings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitishela St Jean.

Hi Mitishela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I was living in Florida, I became a Notary just to have an extra source of income. That’s when I found out I could also solemnize weddings, which I thought was really cool—and honestly seemed like one of the less stressful roles in the wedding industry. Weddings have always been around me in some way. I’ve been the flower girl, junior bridesmaid, bridesmaid, and even maid of honor twice. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic who loves seeing people so in love.

Before I ever got the chance to use my license in Florida, I moved to Georgia. Once I settled here, I decided to get my Notary license again, thinking I could still do weddings—but Georgia doesn’t allow that. So, I did a little research and ended up getting ordained through American Marriage Ministries. Funny enough, I held onto that license for almost a year before I finally did my first ceremony.

The push really came from my sister. She was always my biggest cheerleader and such a talented interior designer with an incredible entrepreneurial spirit. When she passed away, I wanted to honor her by pushing past my nerves and finally putting myself out there. Now, almost two years later, I’ve had the privilege of officiating close to 100 ceremonies—and I truly love what I do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d say one of the biggest challenges has been balancing a full-time job while also being an officiant. There have definitely been opportunities I’ve had to pass on because of my work schedule. Elopements are really popular right now, and couples often want someone available within the same week or the next but with my job schedule made two weeks in advance, that can be tough. I do get lucky with some last minutes that I can do during my lunch break or after work.

Still, I do my best to work with the clients who book months ahead, and I’m grateful for those. The exciting part is knowing that by next year, I’ll be able to leave my full-time job behind and step fully into officiating. That’s the goal I’m working toward, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Linked Hearts Weddings?
I’m the owner of Linked Hearts Weddings, where I provide professional wedding officiant services. I specialize in personalized ceremonies tailored to each couple—whether they’re looking for something short and simple, traditional and formal, modern and unique, or even a last-minute elopement.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just read a script. I take the time to get to know my couples, their story, and what’s most important to them. Some couples want to write their own vows, while others prefer me to guide the whole process—and I love helping with both. My goal is always to make sure their ceremony feels genuine, memorable, and stress-free.

I’m most proud that, even in less than two years, couples have trusted me with nearly 100 ceremonies. It’s an honor every single time, and I feel so blessed to be apart of their big day. At the end of the day, I want people to know that my brand is all about celebrating love in a way that’s true to each couple, and making their day feel as special as it deserves to be.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to go all in on officiating full time and help couples create meaningful, memorable ceremonies. My sister was a big inspiration for me—her entrepreneurial spirit pushes me to follow my passions and really show up for couples.

I’m also looking forward to adding premarital counseling once I get certified, so I can help couples not just on their wedding day, but in building a strong foundation for their marriage. For me, it’s all about helping them start their journey with love, intention, and confidence.
