Hi Tamika , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my career in accounting and government auditing, working with businesses across industries such as manufacturing, construction, engineering, and logistics. In my early professional experiences, I saw a consistent need emerge: many entrepreneurs had the vision and drive to succeed but lacked the financial clarity and strategy needed to sustain growth. This inspired me to establish Jackson Consulting in 2018, a firm dedicated to more than compliance focused on empowering business owners with the knowledge and tools to thrive. Shortly after launching, I expanded the practice to serve entertainment clients and record labels, further broadening the firm’s impact. Over the years, I’ve guided organizations through audits, tax planning, and financial strategy, while also founding an education nonprofit to extend my commitment to service. At the heart of my work is a passion for helping others transform uncertainty into confidence through financial insight and strategy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced the challenges of building a business from the ground up—balancing limited resources, wearing many hats, and learning how to grow sustainably. In the early stages, gaining the trust of clients and building a strong reputation required persistence and resilience. Working with both small businesses and larger organizations also meant adapting quickly to different needs and expectations.
When I expanded into entertainment and record label clients, I had to navigate an entirely new industry, which came with its own complexities. There were moments of uncertainty, but each challenge pushed me to refine my skills, strengthen my systems, and remain focused on my mission. Ultimately, those struggles shaped me into a stronger leader and positioned Jackson Consulting to serve clients with both expertise and empathy.

Jackson Consulting is a minority, woman-owned and certified accounting and financial services firm. We provide comprehensive solutions in accounting, government auditing, tax preparation, and financial planning to industries such as construction, entertainment, logistics, property management, medical transportation, and restaurants.
What sets us apart is not only our technical expertise but also our ability to make financial matters clear and actionable. Backed by a highly skilled team, we have helped our clients scale their businesses, strengthen compliance, and unlock new opportunities for growth. We are especially proud of our local government contracts and our joint ventures with other CPA firms, which demonstrate the trust we’ve earned in high-stakes, collaborative environments.
Over the past six years, we’ve expanded into royalty statement preparation, supporting record labels, publishing companies, and entertainment clients with precision and transparency. In addition, through our partnership with Gwinnett County Public Schools, we provide internship opportunities for high school students, investing in the next generation of financial leaders. With our software certifications in platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage, we bring both breadth and depth to our client services.

Any big plans?
We’re really excited about the direction our firm is going. We’re focusing on growing the auditing side of the business because that’s where we see the most potential to make an impact. At the same time, we’re phasing out traditional tax preparation and shifting toward tax planning, which lets us work more strategically with clients throughout the year rather than just during tax season.
