Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Micalizio.
Hi Gina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I graduated from law school and started my career as an attorney with a general practice firm in Florida. After that I was employed by the FDIC as an associate counsel. My responsibilities included liquidating the assets of failed financial institutionns, assessing claims against those institutions and evaluating deposit insurance coverage. I was also lead counsel for several FDIC receiverships. I was transferred with my job to Atlanta and remained with the FDIC for a few more years. After that I began my own law practice dealing primarily with estate planning, probate, personal bankruptcies and debt collection right before my daughter was born. My practice is still active and I am enjoying assisting people with the challenges that come their way

In my free time I enjoy taking Italian lessons and playing the keyboard with a band at the School Of Rock.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The most difficult struggle with my career was starting my own practice while caring for an infant and navigating how to obtain clients and learning how to effectively manage expenses commensurate with the practice of law.

What makes my happy is when I get to solve a client’s problems taking that burden off their shoulders.
