Today we’d like to introduce you to Janae Clark.
Hi Janae, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Janae’ Clark, founder of La de Fleur, and floral design has been a part of my heart long before it became my profession. While pursuing my master’s degree in Mental and Clinical Health, I discovered how much peace and joy flowers brought me and how much I wanted to share that feeling with others. In 2018, I began working alongside a seasoned floral designer with hopes of purchasing her business. For three years, I poured in my time, passion, and resources, learning the craft hands-on and absorbing the behind-the-scenes knowledge that doesn’t come from textbooks. Although the deal didn’t go through, that chapter shaped me. It was discouraging at first, but through prayer and reflection, God reminded me of the vision He had given me not to take over someone else’s path, but to bloom in my own. Then came COVID. I did a few events here and there, but in 2022, I was invited to design flowers for a wedding—the same year my husband and I celebrated our own. That moment reignited the dream. In 2024, while seeking direction again, I felt a clear answer: stay consistent and don’t stop. Today, I design with intention, joy, and a touch of divine inspiration. Whether it’s a weekly floral arrangement or a full-scale wedding, I approach each project with care, creativity, and heart. My style blends natural elegance with thoughtful details, and I believe every arrangement tells a story.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As I stated before Covid was a huge set back. Also, the school I attended during my Master’s program shut down and I had to scramble to find another school to complete my degree. During that time, I had to stop what was bringing peace and my creative outlet to finish my Masters, which was very difficult to choose. Once, I completed school and licensure process.I continued to do small things at my church and personally for private events and even some private events at my home. One of my greatest blessings was starting my family, my ultimate dream come true. However, it delayed my availability to design. I continued to seek God’s direction knowing this is something he gave me and I truly want to continue. In January 2025 my husband was laid off and I went to push it to the side to pick up more hours in my counseling profession. My husband, my biggest fan encouraged me to keep working and posting on social media. I started posting on social media. Any extra money I could find, I bought flowers and created an arrangement. I started giving them away, to people at church, the grocery store, and my job. For several months, nothing changed and I started to get discouraged. One day, I received an order from someone from my job. As the weeks passed I started receiving calls for orders. I was invited to a open house for a venue. I networked at the event and I was excited and was constantly invited to participate in other events. Before I knew it, I had bi-weekly subscription and people reaching out out and inquiring if I did weddings.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Floral Designer. I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety, depression, adhd, mood disorders, etc. As a floral designer, I’m known for bringing joy to others through colors and textures. So really, I do the same job making others feel better. One through conversation and another through flower’s. I specialize in events and weddings. However, I enjoy working on small projects as well. I am most proud of my determination to do what I love. I’m not concerned or concentrating on trying to be like anyone but myself and it has allowed me to help others and encourage them to not give up on their dreams and goals. What sets me apart, outside of just genuinely being myself, I want every design to touch and evoke emotions despite the cost. I approach everything I do with excellence and away to encourage others.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My faith in Jesus Christ. I believe that he has a purpose for me in both my counseling and floral design and as long as I don’t let things that I can’t see past stop me and be consistent he will make a way.
