Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Linder.
Hi Rachel , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, and photography became the way I could preserve the fleeting, meaningful moments that matter most. I officially launched Rachel Linder Photography about eight years ago, starting small—photographing friends, family, and local celebrations—and quickly realized how much joy I found in capturing love stories.
Over time, I transitioned into weddings, and that’s where I truly found my calling. I fell in love with the blend of artistry and connection—creating timeless, romantic images while also being a calming, trusted presence for my couples on one of the most important days of their lives. As my business grew, I invested in education, refined my style into the bright, light-filled, film-inspired look I’m known for today, and built a client experience that feels both luxury and personal.
Now, I’m honored to serve couples across Georgia and the Southeast, capturing weddings that are not just beautiful but deeply meaningful. It’s been such a rewarding journey—from starting with a camera in my hands and a dream in my heart, to building a business that allows me to preserve memories for generations to come.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced plenty of challenges along the way. In the beginning, I was wearing every hat—photographer, editor, marketer, accountant—all while still trying to pour into my art and create a style I was proud of. That balancing act was overwhelming at times.
On top of that, photography is such a personal career. You’re not only creating images, you’re putting your heart out there, and when seasons were slow or inquiries didn’t come through, it was easy to feel discouraged. The financial side—figuring out sustainable pricing, investing in gear, navigating growth—was another steep learning curve.
More recently, one of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance it all while also being a mom. Wedding days are long and demanding, and editing often happens late at night after little ones are in bed. There were moments I felt stretched thin, but those challenges pushed me to put systems in place, create a better client experience, and lean into why I started in the first place.
Looking back, those hard seasons shaped my business in the best way. They taught me resilience, helped me refine my style into the timeless, light-filled, film-inspired look I love, and reminded me that the heart of this work is always about serving my couples and preserving their memories.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a wedding and lifestyle photographer, and I specialize in creating timeless, romantic, light-filled imagery for couples across Georgia and the Southeast. I’m known for my hybrid approach—shooting both digital and film—which allows me to deliver galleries that are classic and luminous, yet full of authentic emotion.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the photos themselves, but the experience I provide for my couples. From the moment someone inquires to the delivery of their gallery and album, I want them to feel completely cared for. Weddings are emotional, once-in-a-lifetime moments, and my goal is to be a calming, supportive presence while capturing the beauty of the day in a way that feels true to them.
What sets me apart is that blend of artistry and intentionality. I’m not only focused on stunning portraits and dreamy details, but also on the fleeting, in-between moments—the way a groom looks at his bride when no one’s watching, or the tears of a parent during vows. I believe those moments matter just as much as the “big” ones, and I want my couples to relive all of it when they look back at their photos years from now.
Ultimately, I think of myself not just as a photographer but as a storyteller. My images are meant to be timeless heirlooms—something couples will treasure today and their families will cherish for generations.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that might surprise people is that I actually still shoot film alongside digital at weddings. A lot of people assume everything is digital these days, but film has such a timeless, romantic quality that inspires the way I edit and approach my work. It slows me down and makes me more intentional, which I love.
On a more personal note, I think people are often surprised to learn that I juggle running a full-time wedding photography business while being a stay-at-home mom. Balancing motherhood with wedding days, editing, and client work isn’t always easy, but it’s a huge part of who I am and why I value preserving memories so much. I know firsthand how quickly seasons of life pass, and that perspective shapes the heart behind my photography.
