Today we’d like to introduce you to Saralyn Collins.
Hi Saralyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Grow fresh local food started on Sept 15, 2014. Previously in business at the same location as a meat and 3, Good To Go Restaurant, Grow is an expansion of our farm to table roots and philosophy. The owner, Saralyn Collins, and Manager, Keesha Beard, have been working together for over 20 years.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve experienced the trials of most small business. COVID of course. Our copper has been stolen from our electical system. Once our catering van got stolen with all the supplies for a 150 sit down wedding. We recovered ,and the client never knew about it. Aside from the daily minor situations that pop up, we’ve been lucky to survive for 11 years and counting.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a lunch restaurant and catering business. Our restaurant is open Monday thru Friday from 11-3. We do 4 seasonal menus a year, focused on local produce. We offer a vegan menu and have been named Best Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant several times. We also offer meat options. Our catering is well known in the area for our locally sourced buffets and our beautiful grazing tables. In 2020, we were a GA Trend Silver Spoon recipient.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
