Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I didn’t set out to be a consultant — I set out to solve real problems for business owners, because I had lived through those struggles myself. Early in my career, I spent more than a decade in banking, working with hundreds of small and mid-sized businesses. From the outside, many of those businesses looked successful trucks on the road, jobs lined up, revenue coming in. But behind the numbers, many were fighting the same battles: unpredictable cashflow, unclear financials, and the stress of never really knowing if they were moving forward or just spinning their wheels.

I launched NFG Consulting to be the trusted partner I wished I had when starting my own businesses. With over 15 years of experience in finance and entrepreneurship, I bring more than spreadsheets — I bring real-world perspective, accountability, and a no-nonsense style that resonates with owners. My passion is helping small to mid-sized businesses in a number of different industries, turn confusion into confidence and profit leaks into sustainable growth.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The answer is clearly no. Building NFG Consulting has absolutely had its challenges, but it hasn’t been as rocky as my first business. The difference is experience. I’ve learned from both failures and successes, and just as importantly, I’ve learned my own limitations. Instead of trying to do everything alone, I’ve surrounded myself with a strong team and trusted partners who help keep NFG and our clients moving forward.

I like to think of it like bowling with bumper guards. Business ownership rarely goes in a straight line. You hit obstacles, you bounce, you pivot; but the goal is always the same: to knock down the pins at the end of the lane. At NFG, we act as those bumper guards for our clients. We’re there to guide, redirect, and keep them out of the gutters so they can ultimately score the win.

The reality is, if this road were easy, everyone would be doing it. What separates successful entrepreneurs isn’t avoiding struggle, it’s embracing it, learning from it, and using it as fuel to grow stronger.
