Rising Stars: Meet Jasmine Yates of Dunwoody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Yates.

Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been working since I was 16 years old, exploring a variety of industries along the way-retail, sales, call centers, and of course, restaurants. No matter how often I stepped away from the restaurant world, I always found my way back. During my time in the industry, I took on many roles: server, bartender, barista, events, catering, etc. My passion for the industry was so strong that I eventually started my own catering company, balancing it alongside my other commitments to the best of my ability.

Then, I stumbled upon a restaurant group that truly changed my life. I was fortunate to have a team of leaders who believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. That support propelled me to fully immerse myself in management, and I worked my way up through the ranks.

At some point, my needs and goals evolved, so I made the decision to switch restaurant groups and take a few steps back. I did this to evaluate exactly what I needed to thrive and succeed. Little did I realize that those few steps back actually catapulted me 20 steps forward. Today, I’m proud to be an Area Manager for Lucky Momo Hospitality, overseeing all of their concepts.

I’m truly grateful for my current restaurant group, the trust and encouragement I receive, and all the experiences I’ve had along the way. Each one has shaped who I am today and where I’m headed.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing. I’ve faced several challenges along the way, but the most significant one I’d speak to is imposter syndrome. That persistent feeling or voice of doubt that makes you question why you’re doing what you’re doing in the first place. Although it peeks its head in every now and then, what helps me get through is the support of those around me and by focusing on the tangible impact I’ve had on the lives of others.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an Area Manager for Lucky Momo Hospitality, I oversee multiple locations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and upholds our brand’s standards. I focus on delivering excellent guest experiences, supporting and motivating my team, and driving growth across all our sites. It’s a dynamic role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to keep our operations thriving.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I expect the industry to continue evolving significantly over the next 5-10 years. I believe we’ll start to see increased focus on:
Sustainability and eco-friendly practices, continued rise of technology, and emphasis on health and wellness.
