Hidden Gems: Meet Francis And Ebony Ellis of Flipped Atl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francis And Ebony Ellis.

Hi Francis and Ebony, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We started our journey in 2021 with Flipped ATL Mobile Bartending, bringing personalized bar experiences to events across the Atlanta area. What began as a passion for creating great cocktails and unforgettable moments quickly grew as we realized the need for a space of our own. In 2023, we opened Flipped ATL Event Studio, a modern venue designed to host everything from private celebrations to professional gatherings.

As we grew, we saw an opportunity to merge both sides of our business our love for mixology and our event space and created Flip & Sip, an interactive cocktail-making experience. Today, Flipped ATL has evolved into a one-stop shop for people looking to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories. What keeps us motivated is the joy of seeing our guests come together in an environment we built from the ground up, combining service, creativity, and community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Balancing full-time jobs, family, and building a business from scratch came with financial strains and long hours. We often wore every hat—bartender, marketer, decorator, and manager—but those challenges pushed us to become more resilient, creative, and focused on building systems that now keep Flipped ATL thriving.

We’ve been impressed with Flipped Atl, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Flipped ATL is more than just an event business it’s a one-stop destination for celebrations, connection, and unforgettable experiences. We specialize in three core areas: Flipped ATL Event Studio, our modern event space designed for intimate and luxury-style gatherings; Flipped ATL Mobile Bartending, where we bring high-quality bar service directly to clients; and Flip & Sip, our signature cocktail-making experience that combines entertainment, education, and community.

What sets us apart is the way we merge creativity, professionalism, and hospitality. We don’t just provide a space or service we create experiences that feel curated, personal, and memorable. From themed décor packages to handcrafted cocktails, our goal is to take the stress out of planning while elevating the overall vibe.

We’re most proud of building a brand that people trust and love. With a 5-star reputation and a growing community of guests who return again and again, Flipped ATL has become known for its luxury feel at an accessible price point. We want readers to know that whether they’re hosting a baby shower, birthday, corporate mixer, or just looking for a fun night out with friends, Flipped ATL is here to make it extraordinary.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson we’ve learned is that growth requires resilience and adaptability. When we first started, we thought success was about having the perfect plan but we quickly realized it’s more about being willing to pivot, learn, and keep moving forward even when things don’t go as expected. Every challenge whether financial, operational, or personal taught us to trust our vision, lean on each other, and focus on creating value for our community. That mindset has allowed Flipped ATL to evolve from bartending, to opening a venue, to building unique experiences like Flip & Sip.
