Daily Inspiration: Meet Melvina Walton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melvina Walton.

Hi Melvina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been into the home industry. As a teen, I’d often stay up late re-arranging my bedroom and wound up going to college for Interior Design. I quickly learned it was more than just decorating a space, and while my career path took a detour after graduation, I never lost my love for Interior Design and a deep desire to help people truly live well within their walls.

Real Estate has allowed me to restore my connection to a field I love but in a more impactful way. I now get to help families with one of the biggest and often most important transactions of their lives; finding the home they love and doing my best to make the transaction seamless. For now, I’m completely satisfied with what I do, but perhaps in the future, I’ll add Interior Design back into my list of services.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting started wasn’t as smooth and I thought it would be. Initially, I was uncertain about going into Real Estate because I didn’t want to be a traditional salesperson, I truly care about helping people and when I think of sales it’s the opposite of who I want to be seen as. But a good friend helped me realize, for homeowners, this is one of the biggest financial and emotional transactions of their lives and they must have a genuine willingness to transact. Once I had that mindset shift and the understanding that my job isn’t to sell, but instead to offer support and guidance throughout the process, it became abundantly clear that Real Estate was definitely the right choice for me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
operate as a Real Estate Wealth Advisor, guiding all clients through property transactions as integral parts of their overall financial portfolio and life plan. My focus is on turning real estate moves into wealth-building opportunities, whether a client is purchasing their first home, upgrading, or managing an asset in retirement.

I actively partner with clients to define and prioritize their specific real estate goals, from short-term lifestyle improvements to long-term asset growth and execute a disciplined, goal-oriented plan.

I aim to be known as the trusted advisor who demystifies the market. Clients rely on me for data-driven counsel, meticulous planning, and guidance that always places their financial well-being first.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the diversity, there’s so many unique communities and they are constantly working to build up the city. What I love least is traffic, this area is incredibly populated so what should be a quick trip down the road often is not.
