Meet Linsey Carroll of Elevation Gymnastics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linsey Carroll.

Hi Linsey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Gymnastics has been a huge part of my life for over 25 years! My gymnastics journey began in recreational classes at four years old, and I progressed quickly & joined a competition team. Throughout my gymnastics career, I achieved Georgia State Champion titles from 2007 to 2011, competed on the Georgia State Regional Team in 2010, and became a founding member of the Gymnastics Team at Jefferson High School in 2013.

After retiring from gymnastics, I transitioned into coaching and have accumulated over 6 years of experience. I have coached at gyms in Georgia & Pennsylvania, and I’ve had the pleasure of coaching gymnasts from parent-child classes to advanced recreational levels and competitive teams. I’m deeply passionate about empowering gymnasts to reach their fullest potential. As a dedicated leader, I aim to inspire confidence and drive results by motivating and guiding gymnasts through skill development.

Last September (2024), I was working at a gym in Pennsylvania (Cumberland Gymnastics) when my mother in law called me & let me know a gymnastics facility was closing back in Georgia. She asked if I wanted to go into business together & take over the clients & equipment from the facility that was closing, and it was an immediate YES!! Owning my own gym has been a dream of mine since I was a young gymnast! So in less than 2 weeks, my husband and I packed up our Pennsylvania house, and we moved back down to Georgia, and we opened Elevation Gymnastics. We have been in business for a year now! We just celebrated our first birthday! It’s been an incredibly rewarding and exciting journey. I’m deeply grateful to be part of such a supportive community, surrounded by wonderful families and talented athletes. Over the past year, we’ve focused on growing and improving our facility—adding new equipment, implementing skill development charts, and enhancing our programs. We’re especially looking forward to hosting our very first athlete showcase this December!

Beyond my passion for gymnastics, I’m a proud University of Georgia alum with a BBA in Management, specializing in Human Resource Analytics, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Terry College of Business. Go Dawgs!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new business, our gym also came with its share of challenges. When we first started, we had limited equipment, which required us to be resourceful and creative in coming up with effective training stations with what equipment was available. Over the past year, we’ve been fortunate to steadily invest in our facility, including the addition of three new balance beams, two sets of uneven bars, and several other key pieces of equipment. We’re excited to continue expanding and enhancing our gym to better serve our athletes and support their growth!

As you know, we’re big fans of Elevation Gymnastics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Elevation Gymnastics offers a wide variety of programs designed to support athletes of all ages and skill levels. Our classes include recreational gymnastics for boys and girls, tumbling, preschool gymnastics, “Little One & Me” parent-child classes, boys’ strength and agility training, dance, adult gymnastics, and competitive team programs.

Our vision is to create an inclusive, welcoming environment where everyone—from 6 months old to adults—can experience the joy and benefits of movement, fitness, and personal growth. What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a shy but very organized and driven kid! I absolutely loved & thrived on structure—my closet was always color-coded, I kept a detailed schedule, and getting straight A’s was a must for me. I never missed a day of school because I didn’t want to miss out on anything—I wanted to be part of it all!

I was definitely competitive, both in school and in gymnastics. Whether it was aiming for the highest grade or going for first place at a meet, I always wanted to do my best and push myself to be better. Gymnastics especially taught me so much about discipline, responsibility, and setting goals—lessons that have stuck with me ever since. Looking back, I’m really thankful for how those early habits and passions helped shape who I am today!
