Check Out Amanda Gaenssley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Gaenssley.

Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After spending 23 years as a makeup artist — including 13 years running my own Atlanta-based makeup company — I decided to turn my lifelong passion for photography into a new career. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and I could no longer work closely with clients, I took it as an opportunity to pivot. I enrolled in classes at the Atlanta School of Photography, where I discovered my love for real estate media. That experience ultimately led me to launch AG Real Estate Photography in 2023, where I now provide agents with a full range of services, including listing photos, videos, drone imagery, virtual tours, and more.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I had to learn an entirely new industry, build relationships with a completely different client base, and start from scratch — all while balancing life as a wife and mom. It’s been a huge learning curve, but also incredibly rewarding. I reached out to other photographers for mentorship, asked a lot of questions, and learned to really trust myself and my vision throughout the process.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I consider myself a creative first and foremost. I have a strong eye for detail and an intuitive sense of what real estate agents are looking for in their photos. Beyond just taking pictures, I focus on connection — building relationships, listening to my clients, and earning their trust. I take pride in creating images that not only showcase a property beautifully but also serve each agent’s goals. My priority is always delivering a polished, intentional final result that they can be proud to share.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing and scaling my business. I plan to build a small team of highly skilled photographers who share my same creative standards and commitment to quality. Expanding the team will allow me to serve more agents while maintaining the personal connection and attention to detail that my clients value. I’m excited to keep evolving, reaching more agents across Atlanta, and continuing to raise the bar for real estate media.
