Today we’d like to introduce you to LaShanti Wilson.
Hi LaShanti , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up as an athlete playing basketball. I was always off and on when it came to fitness. I would always choose PE or weight lifting class as my electives in school. After I graduated, I would remain active, engaging in more physical activities rather than strength training. I would go with my brother to play ball or run. I fell in love with strength training a few years later, after I saw how it could transform the physique. I loved how I felt after lifting weights and making progress, getting stronger. It has been up from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No! It has not been a smooth road. Some of the struggles for me were having a lot on my plate at the time, being a single mother. I was working dead-end jobs that were getting me nowhere. I knew working for people was not for me. I eventually got tired of it and started dancing in the club. I made my own schedule, had more time with my kids, was able to pay my bills, and take care of us. During that time, I also began training people and started my own business, “Embrace Fitness” in 2015.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have built my career at the intersection of healthcare and fitness. I combine my background in healthcare with my education in Science (kinesiology and health), with nearly a decade of hands-on fitness experience. I bring a rare blend of clinical insight and movement expertise to everything I do, and my passion for fitness helps women move better, feel stronger, and perform at their best. I specialize in strength, performance, and recovery, teaching women how to train with purpose, correct movement patterns, and build lasting strength sustainably.
What I’m most proud of is creating a space where women can reconnect with their bodies in a way that’s both scientific and sustainable. I draw on my clinical experience and exercise science studies to create training that goes beyond aesthetics, focusing on longevity and confidence.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge the gap between education and experience, bridging two worlds. I understand the body on a deeper level, from how muscles function to how stress, lifestyle, and movement all connect. I don’t just prescribe exercise; I combine knowledge, empathy, and science-based strategies that set me apart in the industry and make me a trusted voice for women.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was quiet, shy, and kept to myself. I have always had a great personality. It would take me some time to warm up to people; I had to get to know them first. Interest-wise, I was into sports and books.
