Check Out Nyomi Kior’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyomi Kior.

Hi Nyomi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My Story
First, I have to say none of this would be possible without God, strength, pain, and dedication. I started doing makeup when I was about 16, just practicing on myself and my mom. I remember ordering my first makeup set from Amazon, lol. I would spend hours watching YouTube tutorials, learning what to use and how to use it. It was all trial and error, but over time, I began to see my growth and fall in love with the art.

As I kept practicing on my mom, my work got better and better. Fast forward to 2020 — my life changed forever when my mom passed away on April 2nd. That was the hardest moment of my life. I battled depression, anxiety, and so much pain. I did my mom’s makeup for her funeral, and everyone was amazed by how peaceful and beautiful she looked, like she was simply resting. The funeral home offered me a job doing makeup for the deceased, and I did that for about eight months. But eventually, I started having bad dreams and couldn’t shake the smells that reminded me of my mom. It became too heavy, and I knew I had to step away.

That’s when I decided to start my own business. I launched KLuxuryBeauty, and because so many people already knew my work, clients came quickly. I started selling lashes — my first 60 pairs sold out in just three days! That gave me even more motivation to keep going. Soon after, I realized I wanted to expand into hair, since many people love getting both hair and makeup done. I taught myself how to do wig installs, and after a year of practice, I finally mastered it.

Since then, I’ve serviced over 400 people and counting. Every step of my journey has been filled with lessons, growth, and gratitude. KLuxuryBeauty represents more than beauty — it’s about faith, resilience, and turning pain into purpose.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road it’s been trial and error , Im not perfect ive made mistakes and ive made sure those mistake never happen again , I’ve learned being a entrepreneur i got to be strong dealing with different people from different places I have to be ready for the unusual at any moment

How do you think about luck?
Good luck had played a amazing role in my business because it’s been times i was without a lot but I had to get the job done be any means, I stressed and had to figure out what can I do asap to get certain things before my client arrived , sometimes things dont go as planned but good luck always plays a part and everything works out amazing
