Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Shamya Jones

We recently had the chance to connect with Shamya Jones and have shared our conversation below.

Shamya , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
For me, it’s the process of creating a world for XquisiteIce Avenue. When I wake up, I immediately think about how I can pull people into the state of being their own muse, where style meets self-expression, and jewelry is the finishing touch. This brand is a reflection of me, curated for those like me who are stepping out of their comfort zone and elevating in ways that can sometimes feel overwhelming. The simple act of putting on your jewelry, the final layer before walking out the door, holds something special. That slight moment when you pause, breathe in, and remember you’re beautiful and everything is going to be okay… that’s where I find myself again. Having a platform to bring back that sense of beauty is what keeps me inspired.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shamya Jones, and I am the owner and founder of the jewelry brand XquisiteIce Avenue. My brand has gone through multiple turning points, from starting out selling lashes and small accessories by hand right before Covid-19, to growing into a full online jewelry shop. However, the central message has always stayed the same: jewelry should simply accentuate what’s already within. At XquisiteIce, we don’t just sell jewelry; we curate pieces with top manufacturers to give you access to the kind of quality and elegance you’ve always dreamed of. More than that, our mission is to help people express what’s already inside them (their power, beauty, and individuality) through every piece they wear.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest moment I felt powerful was when I realized my mind determines my reality. Becoming the person of your dreams is hard. Not becoming that person is even harder. When I made the decision to grow into the best version of myself, the person God called me to be, that was the moment I truly felt powerful.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
The moment I decided to make myself the face of my brand, I discovered my true power. Not only was I able to confront my fear of putting myself out there, but it also allowed me to make XquisiteIce Avenue a true extension of who I am. Everything I love, from timeless fashion to self-discovery and personal growth, is poured into this brand, which ultimately makes it unlike any other.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to getting XquisiteIce Avenue in front of people all over the world, no matter how long it takes. Building a brand that connects with and inspires others is a journey, and I’m in it for the long run.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want people to remember me as an inspiration. It’s easy to give up on your dreams, especially when it takes years to see what the world considers “real” results. Sacrifices and slow progress can feel discouraging. But choosing to show up anyway, that’s power. Knowing what’s meant for you and acting on it, that’s power. Forever evolving and becoming, that’s staying exquisite.
