Nisa Traylise shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Nisa, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m definitely walking a path. Sometimes I may stray from it, but I’m always able to refocus & find my way back
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Nisa, Owner of All About Events & now All About Memorials.
I started That’s Tu’Cute in 2017, with just making custom tutus and tutu sets, in 2019 I added party favors, and in 2020 I added balloons. Since then I’ve moved to Atlanta from LA in 2021 and rebranded to All About Events. I wanted a name that covered all aspects of everything I do. So I created my logo, and rebranded.
In 2024, I got into the memorial industry. I designed my brother’s obituary in 2020 and always held a passion for just making a family’s hardest moments a little easier. I took a class from La’Keda Moye, a took off from there. Now I create everything memorials from obituaries to shirts to buttons.
My business names are a nod to my dad, his business is All About Cars, he really showed me this entrepreneur life from a young age. I’ve never seen him clock in. And I’m very big on giving people their flowers while they can still smell them so that was my way of giving him flowers
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose and must now be released is people pleasing. Growing up, I always wanted to be someone’s favorite, so I often conformed and even made myself smaller to keep others happy. As I got older, I carried that pattern with me, believing I had to earn love and acceptance. But as I began to meet people who truly love me for exactly who I am, I realized it’s possible to be fully myself and still be valued. That version of me, the one who pleases at the expense of her own light, no longer serves me. It’s time to let her go.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I really used to think it was a fear of failing, now I know it’s really a fear of succeeding. The fear that has held me back the most in my life is the fear of succeeding. Success means stepping fully into my potential, and for a long time that felt overwhelming. What if I couldn’t maintain it? What if others expected more of me than I could give? In some ways, failure felt safer it kept me in my comfort zone, unseen and unchallenged. But I’ve come to realize that success isn’t something to fear; it’s simply the natural outcome of embracing who I truly am.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If you asked my closest friends what really matters to me, they’d say loyalty, creativity, and legacy. I value relationships built on trust and consistency, and I put that same commitment into my work. Creativity is also important I enjoy bringing ideas to life and finding unique ways to solve problems. But most of all, they’d say I care about legacy. I want the things I create and the way I treat people to have a lasting, positive impact that continues even after I’m not in the room.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m doing what I was born to do. For me, it’s about aligning my work with my natural strengths and passions, not just following a path someone else set. I feel most fulfilled when I’m creating, serving, and building something meaningful that’s when I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
