Today we’d like to introduce you to Amir Lamei.
Hi Amir, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been part of the East Cobb and Marietta community nearly my entire life — I actually grew up here, going to Mt. Bethel Elementary, Dickerson Middle, and Walton High School. So when I had the opportunity to come back home and serve the same community that shaped me, it felt like everything had come full circle. I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and my orthodontic degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where I was honored to be one of only eight students in my class inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. I was also inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Upsilon Phi and served as president of the American Student Dental Association. Those experiences instilled in me the values of leadership, integrity, and excellence — lessons that continue to guide how I run my practice today.
During my residency, I had the privilege of being mentored by Dr. Harold Enoch, who was one of my faculty members. After graduation, he invited me to join him in practice. I started as an associate, later became his partner, and today I’m honored to serve as the owner of Enoch & Lamei Orthodontics. I’m deeply grateful for his mentorship and everything he has taught me. Thankfully, Dr. Enoch continues to work alongside us — not because he has to, but because he genuinely loves what he does, the patients he serves, and the people he works with.
After completing my training, I became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction achieved by roughly 30% of orthodontists nationwide. Today, our practice has two locations in Marietta and Roswell, where our mission is simple: to deliver exceptional orthodontic care in a warm, family-centered environment.
I remain active in organized dentistry, currently serving as a delegate for the Georgia Dental Association. I’m also a past president of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists and previously served as president of the Georgia Orthodontic Foundation. I’m proud to be part of the Southern Association of Orthodontists Scientific Committee, which allows me to stay engaged with the latest research and innovation in our field.
Outside of orthodontics, my other passion is martial arts. I hold fourth-degree black belts in both Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo, and I love teaching and sharing those values of discipline, respect, and perseverance with others. My wife, Lisa, and I live in Roswell with our three amazing kids — Kian, Niko, and Layla — and we love spending time outdoors, staying active, and being part of this wonderful community that continues to give so much back to us.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most meaningful journeys, mine hasn’t been without its challenges. Dentistry and orthodontics require years of training and sacrifice, but what really tests you comes after — when you step into leadership and learn how to run a business, manage a team, and serve people well all at once. When I first became a practice owner, I quickly realized that being a great orthodontist and being a great leader are two very different skill sets. Balancing patient care, staff development, community involvement, and the business side of running a practice took time, humility, and a lot of learning. There were moments of uncertainty — especially during transitions and growth phases — but each challenge helped shape my leadership philosophy and strengthen our practice culture.
One thing that made all the difference was the mentorship of Dr. Harold Enoch. His guidance and example gave me a foundation of wisdom and stability during those early years. He showed me what it truly means to lead with integrity, treat patients like family, and create an environment where both patients and team members feel valued. His steady support made the road far smoother than it might have been otherwise.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that challenges are opportunities to grow if you stay focused on your purpose. For me, that purpose has always been people — my patients, my team, and my community. When you keep that at the center of everything, the road, even when bumpy, always leads somewhere meaningful.
We’ve been impressed with Enoch and Lamei Orthodontics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Enoch & Lamei Orthodontics, we believe that orthodontic care should be as personal as the smiles we create. We’re not just straightening teeth — we’re building confidence, relationships, and experiences that make every patient feel valued and cared for. Our offices in Marietta and Roswell serve families throughout East Cobb, Roswell and beyond. We specialize in comprehensive orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults — including braces, clear aligners, and advanced smile correction using the latest technology and techniques. Every treatment plan is customized, and every patient is treated like family. What truly sets us apart is the culture of warmth and connection our team has built. From the moment someone walks through the door, they can feel that our practice is different — friendly, upbeat, and genuinely invested in each patient’s journey. We take pride in creating an environment where people actually enjoy coming to the orthodontist. We’re also deeply rooted in our community involvement. From sponsoring local schools and family events to partnering with youth organizations, we see our role as more than just healthcare providers — we’re neighbors, mentors, and supporters of the families who make this community special. Brand-wise, I’m most proud that our reputation reflects who we truly are — professional yet approachable, high-tech yet personal, and always centered around kindness and excellence. At Enoch & Lamei Orthodontics, we don’t just create beautiful smiles — we create meaningful experiences that last well beyond treatment.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe the most important quality behind my success is consistency with purpose. In orthodontics — and in life — success isn’t about one big moment; it’s about showing up every day with intention, treating people with respect, and doing the little things with excellence. I’ve always tried to lead with humility and gratitude, knowing that I don’t have all the answers and that growth comes from listening and learning — from patients, from my team, and from mentors like Dr. Enoch who have shaped the way I lead.
That mindset of consistent growth and genuine care has carried through every aspect of our practice — from how we treat our patients to how we support our community. At the end of the day, people remember how you made them feel. If you can combine clinical excellence with kindness and authenticity, everything else tends to fall into place.
