Conversations with Jonas Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonas Thomas.

Hi Jonas, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have shot over 2500 homes in my 7 year plus years of doing real estate photography, from small condos to 45 million dollar estates. I offer photos, drone, video floor plans , whatever realtors need to market their properties. I have shot commerical buildings, air bnb , personal homes and of course thousands of listings for realtors and more. Moved here in 2020 from palm beach fl, in middle of pandemic with a dream to start my own business. I had been doing real estate photography for a company in fl for a few years but had a non compete with him. But was always getting requested and just knew if i could figure out a system , i would love to try it on my own. So searched diff areas and states and me and my wife choose greater atlanta metros as a place we could see us growing our family and trying to thrive. So I just started with my camera and built by own website and socials, found editor and software systems needed to deliver product. then proceeded to reach out and contact realtors any way i could through social and doing office visits and such till I got a couple to give me a try, Since i knew my work would speak for itself. I have actually spent zero dollars in marketing and grew it all by word of mouth and personal contact. it took a few months but word of mouth spread quickly and i started to be pretty busy not to many months in, every business has its challenges but im going on 5 years now here and im proud that each year has grown and this year has been my best ever. Many great reviews and 100s of happy clients later.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Covid and the challenges of going into homes and the crazy changing markets due the demand for homes and interest rates changing so wildly really has affected business on a month to month aspect . but just kept sticking with it and i always take such pride in my work in cust service that it has really helped carry me thru. This industry is wildly competitive and there is probably 80 plus companies in same areas that i service so has been a challenge to prove your value and keep loyalty. So i try to focus on ease of use for clients and of course top notch quality and never slip on that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Real Estate Photography

Top notch photography that grabs attention from buyers , your photos are your first showing and also as realtors basically are your brand and how sellers remember you. So i pride myself on always impressing or blowing sellers and realtors away with quality and angles and offerings all in one place with great cust service.

Not to brag but probably not a better real estate photographer in the state, i also offer video , drone and floor plans to help market properties.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Having a healthy and happy family is number one for me. Business wise just trying to grow each year and stay on top of the quality and beating expectations of sellers and my realtor clients. I cant tell you how many fun and cool stories i have had of what my videos or photos meant to people and of course brought them top dollar. So always make me feel good that i can help people with their biggest assets and prosper.
