Today we’d like to introduce you to Keshay Devine-Tucker.
Hi Keshay, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Keshay Devine-Tucker, a devoted wife, proud mom of five, and the self-taught fine artist and sculptor behind DevineArt Studio in Woodstock, Georgia. My artistic journey began long before my business did. I’ve had a natural gift for sketching since early childhood, as far back as age five. I was always known for keeping a sketch pad and pencil close by, sketching daily and bringing my imagination to life on paper.
Outside of visual art, I also grew up loving to sing and write poetry, finding comfort and inspiration in words and melody. One of my poems has even been published, and I plan to release a full poetry book sometime next year, a dream that ties together my love for visual and written storytelling.
The only time I ever paused creating was briefly after high school. At 18, I attended Fort Valley State University for a year, then returned home to Atlanta to save for a vehicle since I was about to give birth to my oldest son, Jamel, and take a short break before continuing school. During that time, I was unexpectedly hit by a car after getting off the bus from leaving medical school early, a path I chose initially for stability and to stay close to family. The accident left my pelvis broken in three places, and I couldn’t walk for a while. But that stillness became transformation. I began sketching again and writing poems to accompany each drawing, channeling my pain into art and evolving my craft in ways I never had before. That experience reignited my passion and reminded me that creating was not just what I do, it’s who I am.
When I became pregnant with my son Jason, I made the decision to take my gift seriously and build a career doing what I love. I already knew I was a strong sketch artist, but I wanted to elevate my skill, so I taught myself how to paint. After Jason’s passing in January 2017, nearly a year after that decision, I promised myself and him that I would go all in and never quit. His life continues to inspire every brushstroke and every vision I bring to life.
Since then, I’ve expanded my artistry to include sculpting, a natural talent that came effortlessly once I started three years ago. Today, I create large-scale oil paintings, often 4 feet or larger, that celebrate strength, spirituality, and transformation. My work has been collected by Usher Raymond, Kandi Burruss, Tiny Harris, Lil Baby, Christina Johnson, Trina Braxton, Selena Johnson, and featured on both television and stage productions.
Through DevineArt Studio, I’ve hosted exhibitions, taught students of all ages, and built a space, my new art gallery, that merges healing, creativity, and community. I believe art isn’t just something we make, it’s what remakes us. My mission is to continue creating, teaching, and inspiring others to find their own light through art, poetry, and divine expression.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth, but every challenge I’ve faced has been part of the divine process that shaped my resilience and purpose. I’ve experienced loss, setbacks, and full-circle moments that tested my faith, yet each one led me closer to who I was meant to become.
After losing one of my sons, Jason, I had to rebuild my confidence and sense of direction. I also survived a major accident years earlier that left my pelvis broken in three places. During my recovery, I returned to sketching and writing poetry as a way to heal and express myself. That period reignited my creative spirit and reminded me that art was not just something I loved, it was my lifeline.
My journey as a gallery owner has been equally filled with lessons. I opened my first gallery in Lithonia, Georgia, in 2020, but unexpected issues with the property quickly made it clear that it wasn’t the right fit. The landlord and I came to a mutual decision to part ways early, and I took that as a sign to trust divine redirection rather than force what wasn’t aligned.
In 2022, I moved my art into The New Black Wall Street Market, where I built strong community connections and enjoyed steady growth for a while. But as foot traffic slowed and costs rose, I made the difficult decision to pull my work out in 2024 to regroup and refocus. It was bittersweet, yet it taught me the value of knowing when to pivot.
By May 2025, right around my birthday, I officially moved into my new gallery space in Woodstock, Georgia, which has been a beautiful new chapter. It felt like confirmation that everything I lost and rebuilt had purpose.
Balancing it all as a wife, mom of five, and entrepreneur hasn’t always been easy. But every challenge, from personal loss to business transitions, has strengthened my faith and fueled my drive to keep going. I’ve learned that every closed door simply redirected me to the one that was meant for me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a fine artist, sculptor, and the owner of DevineArt Studio in Woodstock, Georgia, a creative space where art, healing, and community meet. What began as a childhood passion for sketching has evolved into a full-fledged career built on purpose and perseverance. I’ve had a natural gift for drawing since I was a little girl, always carrying a sketch pad and pencil everywhere I went. Over time, that gift grew into a lifelong calling that now allows me to inspire others through multiple forms of creative expression.
At DevineArt Studio, I create and exhibit my original fine art collections, host art shows and community-centered events, and teach art classes to both children and adults. My studio also serves as a space for private lessons, paint parties, and mentorship, where I help others unlock their creative potential and experience the therapeutic power of art.
As a self-taught artist, I’m deeply proud of how my career has unfolded , from humble beginnings sketching in my childhood home to now owning a gallery that uplifts others. Each painting, sculpture, and class I lead is rooted in the belief that creativity is divine, and that art has the power to restore, connect, and transform lives. My work reflects not only my personal journey but also my mission to make art accessible, healing, and inspiring to all.
