Hi AJ, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always been an avid creator, starting very young as a touring musician, songwriter and ultimately transitioning to an award winning music composer to my surprise, with photography as a minor side hobby. I started to get more involved with photography and videography around 2015 and then in 2020 decided to establish this hobby into a formal business, specifically targeting real estate & commercial photography in which AJC IMAGERY was founded. Since then, AJC IMAGERY has grown into a full service real estate media company, and has been recognized as a BEST OF GWINNETT award recipient for 2023 and 2024. Additionally, AJC IMAGERY has expanded into other areas of photography, such as headshot photography, event photography, senior & family portraits, and recently partnering with SANTA CLAUS where we now offer various Christmas holiday related photo shoots, to include corporate events as well as dedicated family & mini sessions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, growth of the business has been relatively smooth, with all the normal challenges of starting a new business. However, there has been a few pivotal challenges along the way. Given the company was established in 2020, the first hurdle was the 2020 COVID lockdown, which greatly hindered the startup process. As we all now know, this was an incredible challenge for most businesses, especially those that were just starting out. Additionally, given the economic effects of the more recent years, specifically regarding the real estate market, with inflation, interest rate hikes, housing costs, etc, collectively has presented some real challenges as it has severely slowed home sales, hence negatively affecting the real estate photography industry, especially those businesses that were still in the building phase.

AJC IMAGERY is primarily a real estate and commercial media company, specializing in photography, videography and other real estate marketing media. What sets AJC IMAGERY apart, is that we are not a typical “photo mill” as you might normally find with real estate photography companies. I take pride in providing extremely personal service and perform all photo editing in-house, unlike many that out-source photo editing. Additionally, we offer various other photography related services, such as headshot photography, event photography, senior & family portraits, as well as holiday family photos including SANTA CLAUS.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My wife, family, and friends have been extremely supportive in my journey and have no doubt helped keep me motivated especially during the tough times. Additionally, I must give a big shout out to my customer clientele for being such incredible supporters. I strive to provide excellent service and can not thank my customers enough for the great support, repeat business, and the great reviews they provide, that help so much in growing a small businesses. Collectively, they have all helped AJC IMAGERY achieve the BEST OF GWINNETT award for photography for 2023 & 2024!!
