Today we’d like to introduce you to Jontai Reynolds.
Hi Jontai, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey really started from a place of survival that evolved into purpose. I’ve always been a storyteller at heart, but my writing deepened during some of the most challenging seasons of my life. Moments where I needed to make sense of pain, reactive abuse, and rediscovery of myself. What began as personal journaling slowly turned into TAI Corner Blogs, a safe corner of the internet where I could unpack real conversations around healing, self-awareness, and the messy process of growth.
From there, I realized I wasn’t alone. Women were reaching out saying, “This is exactly how I feel,” or “I thought I was the only one.” That connection inspired me to create HER UNION CIRCLE a community and creative platform built on transparency, empowerment, and collective healing.
Today, my work blends writing, advocacy, and storytelling to spark dialogue around emotional intelligence, workplace trauma, and personal recovery. Every blog, workbook, and series I release is rooted in the belief that your story is both your power and your proof.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! It’s been anything but smooth. I haven’t had much support, so a lot of this journey has been me wearing every hat: writer, content creator, editor, strategist you name it. There are definitely moments where I’ve felt overwhelmed or burned out, especially when you’re pouring so much of yourself into something that’s purpose-driven but honestly, those challenges have shaped me. They’ve taught me consistency, discipline, and faith in my vision, even when no one else could see it yet. One of my favorite quotes is, “To whom much is given, much is required.” I hold onto that because it reminds me that the pressure comes with the purpose and I’d rather be stretched by growth than stuck in comfort.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an author, blogger, advocate, and full-time graduate student so my work lives at the intersection of storytelling, mental health awareness, and advocacy. Through my platforms, HER UNION CIRCLE and TAI Corner Blogs, I create content that gives voice to the unspoken especially around emotional burnout, workplace trauma, and the healing process.
What I’m most proud of is turning my personal experiences into purpose-driven work that helps others feel seen and validated. Whether it’s through my Mental Health Series I do weekly, healing journals, or advocacy campaigns, I strive to make people feel like their stories matter because they do.
What sets me apart is my transparency and the depth of emotional truth I bring to my writing. I don’t sugarcoat the process of healing or growth; I write it the way it’s lived raw, real, and reflective. I think that’s why so many readers connect with my work. It’s not just inspiration it’s raw and uncut.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Without a doubt, my biggest inspiration and motivation come from my daughter, Jianna. She’s “my purpose” and my “why.” Everything I do from the long nights, the hard work, the pushing through it’s all is to show her what strength, faith, and perseverance looks like. I also have a responsibility to my niece, Journee, to lead by example and show both of them that they can create their own path no matter what life throws at them.
My mom of course has been my backbone through it all the person who keeps me grounded and reminds me of who I am when things get heavy. My sisters Jonika and Jonae are my built-in support system and biggest cheerleaders; they understand the vision even when it’s still taking shape. Of Course I can not forget my current instructors at Troy University and for their guidance , encouragement, and knowledge have helped me grow both personally and professionally.
It really does take a village, and I’m grateful for every person who’s poured into me along the way.
