Today we’d like to introduce you to Gladius Guitarist.
Hi Gladius, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started playing guitar when I was a kid, and right away I got hooked on both classical and rock — two totally different worlds that somehow made sense together. Over time, I started blending those influences into my own thing, mixing flamenco rhythms with the energy of rock guitar.
Since my last VoyageATL interview, life’s been a bit of a whirlwind. I’ve played a ton of shows all over the country, released new music, and even had the chance to perform overseas. Every year feels like a new chapter — new places, new people, and new lessons along the way.
These days, I’m just focused on keeping it real, growing as an artist, and sharing the music the Lord gives me and connecting with people wherever I end up playing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been far from a smooth road. I handle a lot on my own — performing, booking, marketing, routing tours, and running the online side of things while traveling. Over time I’ve had to build small remote teams and outsource parts of the business like outreach, design, and admin work just to stay sane and keep things moving. Managing that from the road adds its own set of challenges — time zones, communication gaps, and keeping everyone aligned.
Physically, the lifestyle takes a toll too. Years of driving, loading gear, and long shows eventually caught up with me, and I’ve had to do physical therapy to stay in shape and keep performing at a high level. Balancing health, creativity, and entrepreneurship hasn’t been easy — but learning to delegate and pace myself has made a huge difference.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a solo guitarist who blends flamenco, classical, and rock influences into what I call Flamenco Rock Fusion. My shows mix the intensity of rock with the rhythm and precision of flamenco — it’s high energy, all instrumental, and meant to tell a story without words.
Over the years, I’ve performed hundreds of shows across the U.S., from libraries and festivals to theaters and house concerts. I handle everything independently — from performing and recording to managing the business, tours, and online content — with some help, thankfully, but no labels.
What I’m most proud of is being able to make a living doing what I love while staying true to my sound. I think what sets me apart is the mix of styles and the passion behind the music — it’s technically demanding but still approachable and moving.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Hard to pick one, but I’ll mention a few. Consistency and organization are everything. As I like to say, “90% of failure is due to lack of organization.” It’s rarely about talent — it’s about structure, discipline, and follow-through. Learning to build systems, delegate, and stay consistent has made all the difference in balancing the art, the tours, the business…
Perhaps most important of all is faith. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). There’ve been plenty of times the road ahead wasn’t clear, but trusting that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26) can make all the difference.
