Hi James, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m a big believer in serving others. Since an early age I’ve been a part of non-profits, charities, churches, mission teams, with the purpose of serving others with the Love of Christ.
I think its safe to say I’ve seen the in and outs of the world of 501(c)3s. During my studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology (CS), seeing the Teslas, the Googles, Metas on campus all the time, the opportunities to the most cutting edge technologies, with more experience came more understanding how large the GAP is between nonprofits and corportate really is. The technological GAP is 15 years. with 7 out of 10 of my CS graduates moving to the bay area to work for the big tech firms, I decided to start Bezalel Lab ® to bring the best Technology to the nonprofit sector. Nonprofits suffer with archaic operations, lack of automations, complete data silos, outdated UI, horrendous donation conversion, lack of strategy in all things tech, aging donor base, lack of the best tech talent on IT staff. This is too name a few:) After Graduating in Dec 2023, I started doing market research and test projects to get to a place where we have a proven concept… In August of 2024 we officially started the company right here in North Atlanta and we started serving non-profits accross the entire united states with our fully remote team (6 people). We are very blessed in serving ministries and charities while applying our passion toward the most innovative tech solutions… our motto is Nonprofit Tech that Doubles your Donors
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a founder and an entrepreneur is NOT an easy task and its not for everyone…. In order to even start the company, I slept in my car during my studies at Gatech to save money and invest in the business.
We started with custom lead generation system I developed, with rejection after rejection. The most difficult thing is when you understand how much you can help a non-profit, but your marketing message is not clear yet and you take too much to heart. You learn a no just means not yet.
Every Quarter seems to be a new milestone where you look back in hindsight and see Gods blessing in improving bit by bit.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The Nonprofit Tech Industry seems to be adapting to how AI will be used. I think there is a move toward focusing on significant donors.
For me, I see that the biggest move of all is adapting to a fully native system… As a nonprofit grows, it’s departments become more and more segmented by using their department scope software that is not connected together. This is exactly what we offer and I believe that we are paving the way for the new industry standard.
