Meet Fitness Instructor, Trainer, Musician, and Owner of GitPhit Urban Fitness: Eli Wells

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eli Wells.

Eli, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
20yrs ago I was assaulted and stabbed in my right eye, which led to my obesity where I ended up weighing over 630lbs. Over the next 15yrs, I was able to lose over 350lbs plus pounds thru exercise and changing my lifestyle. I lost so much weight that I had to deal with lots of excess skin for several years, later on, I would then be featured on an episode of Atlanta Plastic Season 2 and was able to share my story and hopefully motivate others. GitPhit Urban Fitness was created years ago by me meaning no matter how you do it just GITPHIT! “Physical High Intense Training”!! I have a love for men’s fashion and would hope to really get out there deep in the men’s fashion. The past 4 to 5yrs I’ve been a group fitness instructor / also fitness trainer for a semi-pro football team and I just love helping others obtain their weight loss goals… I hope to have my brand GitPhit Urban Fitness known across the world!!! Cause it’s all about GitPhit!!!

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely a struggle at some point. When somethings are new to you just trying to decide to go the best route and make the best decision.

When you look back, can you point to a period when you wanted to quit or a period that was really frustrating?
There has been several of times where I felt like quitting , but I just remember how far I’ve come and so far along this journey I have overcome setbacks, but continue to push thru and obtain my goal!

What advice do you wish to give to those thinking about pursuing a path similar to yours?
Live your dream! You only get one ride at this thing we call life! Live! Love, Laugh!!!!

What are you looking forward to?
I’m excited to see what lies ahead. I may have planned certain things but life tends to throw curve balls and there’s always the unexpected it could be good or bad, but I’m going to continue this journey either way!
