Community Highlights: Meet Jonathan Brooks of Envision Physical Therapy, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Brooks.

Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jonathan (J.T.) Brooks, and I was born and raised in Roswell. From a young age I have always been passionate about health and fitness. I am particularly intrigued by human anatomy and physiology, and how to correct deviations from typical function. My personal experiences with numerous injuries- including broken bones, muscle tears, a torn labrum, and two herniated discs in my low back-have given me firsthand insight on what it is expected and needed to return to my active lifestyle without limitations. This journey has not only taught me how the body should move but also, critically, how to restore function when limitations arise. A career in Physical Therapy was, without a doubt, the perfect path for me.

My commitment to this field is also built on a foundation of discipline and direction. In 2005, I joined the U.S. Navy, which provided me with both discipline and a means to pursue my education. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Kennesaw State University, and then I went on to complete my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Brenau University.

For over 5 years, I have proudly practiced in Georgia, helping hundreds of patients regain independence and return to their active lives. During that time, many patients expressed the need for continued support outside of a clinic setting- either after insurance coverage ended or for injury prevention without yet another trip to the doctor’s office.

This consistent feedback inspired me to launch Envision Physical Therapy, LLC, my mobile physical therapy practice. For the past year, I have been providing personalized, one-on-one treatment in the comfort of people’s homes, eliminating concerns about traffic and ensuring a private, supportive environment where they can focus on their recovery without judgement.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have never been one to just take the easy road, so I was prepared for a bumpy journey. This journey has not been too bumpy though. One aspect of this journey that has been more of a challenge was the business side of physical therapy. Unfortunately, business management is not a priority in physical therapy school, so I have had to proactively seek additional education and learn through some trial and error how to effectively market, reach consumers, and sell both my services and the value of physical therapy.

Fortunately, I am a lifelong learner, and this drives me to constantly pursue excellence in all my endeavors. One significant challenge I have encountered is the prevalence of big box physical therapy clinics on every other corner and a general reluctance people have towards needing our services. This is why I strive to make physical therapy an enjoyable and educational experience, always prioritizing my patient’s needs and goals yielding fast and positive results.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I am not sure how much luck has played in my life and business up to this point. I work very hard to prepare myself for most situations this reduces the need for luck. Also, I am a believer that everything happens for a reason so I may not think of good or bad situations as good luck or bad luck. I am very fortunate to have worked with and met some incredible people who have led me to this time in my life.
