Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Wheeler.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
years ago i mentioned photography to my significant other at the beginning of our relationship when discussing our goals, not thinking anything of it because i knew how expensive cameras are & did not think it was ever in my budget. he sold his playstation & came home with a brand new camera. he believed in my dream before i did & for that i am forever thankful.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
oh no, absolutely not. running a business is never easy. i have been through so much with photography during the last 5 years. upgrading my camera & lens multiple times. problematic clients. trending photoshoot ideas. imposter syndrome. anything you can name, i have probably been through.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
i specialize in almost every field of photography besides newborns, that takes true talent & dedication that i am honestly just not interested in but i hold children near & dear to my heart. i love meeting new little tiny humans & capturing memories for them. in my area i am known for my animal photoshoots especially baby cows. i can’t think of anything cuter then children & baby cows, which is why my cow sessions are my favorite. in addition to my photography business I also volunteer with a non profit organization called now i lay me down to sleep. we offer our photography services to parents experiencing a fetal demise or expected to shortly after birth. as a mother who has experienced a stillbirth, i hold pregnancy loss very near & dear to my heart. volunteering with this company, has truly made me proud & is helping me heal my own heart while helping other families heal theirs.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
don’t give up is the best advice i can give anyone. some days might be hard exhausting but always remember, you are meant for this! it’s okay to take a break but never let anyone or anything keep you away from your passion
