Exploring Life & Business with Andrea Santacoloma of The Bilingual Wedding Officiant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Santacoloma.

Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started in 2021, when I got married and realized how difficult it was to find a bilingual wedding officiant in the Gwinnett area. As someone who has been an entrepreneur for over 16 years, that experience sparked something in me. During my own ceremony, I discovered how powerful and emotional it can be when a wedding truly reflects a couple’s love, story, and cultural background.

That moment inspired me to create ceremonies that go beyond a simple civil exchange — I wanted to design experiences that were personal, heartfelt, and unforgettable. What began as a passion project soon evolved into a thriving business. Today, I have the privilege of uniting couples from all backgrounds, celebrating love in both English and Spanish, and crafting meaningful ceremonies that honor who they are and where they come from.

Every ceremony I perform is unique — it’s about telling the couple’s story in a way that feels authentic, emotional, and filled with joy. Seeing families smile, shed tears, and connect through words that bridge two languages is what drives me every single day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges in the beginning, especially when it came to visibility and awareness. When I first started The Bilingual Wedding Officiant, not many couples knew this kind of service even existed in the area. Most people were used to traditional ceremonies or short court marriages that didn’t always reflect both cultures or languages, and I had to educate my community about how powerful a bilingual ceremony could be.

Another challenge was finding balance. Being an entrepreneur and creative means wearing many hats; marketing, scheduling, writing, and delivering heartfelt ceremonies…. all while maintaining that same energy and passion for each couple. Over time, I learned to embrace structure, plan ahead, and stay true to my “why”: helping couples feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

Every challenge became a lesson. I realized that when you build something from the heart people naturally connect with your purpose. Today, I’m proud to say that what started as a local idea has grown into a trusted name for bilingual weddings throughout metro Atlanta and beyond.

We’ve been impressed with The Bilingual Wedding Officiant, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Bilingual Wedding Officiant is based in the metro Atlanta area and specializes in creating personalized, bilingual wedding ceremonies in English and Spanish. My goal is to help couples celebrate their love in a way that feels authentic, emotional, and true to who they are honoring both their story and their cultural roots.

Each ceremony I design is completely customized. I take the time to get to know every couple — their journey, their traditions, their values and weave that into a script that feels meaningful and unique. Whether it’s an intimate elopement, a traditional wedding, or a modern celebration, every ceremony is written from the heart and delivered with warmth and professionalism. We have worked with all different cultures that want to incorporate a ritual, vow renewals and quinceañeras.

What sets The Bilingual Wedding Officiant apart is the personal connection I create with each couple and the ability to bring two languages and cultures together in harmony. It’s not just about translating words it’s about uniting families, bridging generations, and celebrating love without barriers.

As a woman-owned business, I’m proud to bring empathy, creativity, and strength into everything I do. The Bilingual Wedding Officiant proudly supports and celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, because love has no limits and everyone deserves a ceremony that honors who they are and who they love.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust and emotion that my ceremonies inspire. Many couples tell me that their ceremony was their favorite part of the entire day — because it reflected who they truly are. That’s what I want readers to know about my work: this is more than officiating weddings, it’s about creating unforgettable moments that speak to the heart.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Along with authenticity, I would say empathy and passion have been essential. Being able to understand and honor different cultures, backgrounds, and love stories is what makes each ceremony so powerful. My passion keeps me learning, growing, and giving my best to every couple.
