Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilia Orozco.
Hi Lilia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My esthetician journey started in high school. I was able to take vocational classes that lead me to going into cosmetology. I knew after high school I could not afford to go to college right away, so I would take the hours I gained while in high school and finish my cosmetology hours to get my license to work in the field so I can start saving or paying for college as I worked. I thought the beauty industry was just a stepping stone. While in cosmetology school I met so many people in the industry, and right away I feel in love with make up and skin care. Along the way I meet a great make up artist and brow guru. I started working at her studio and learning how to do brows to enhance your natural features as well as rehab them back to life. I worked there for a few years till I ended up having an opportunity to going into corporate America into law, which that was something I was thinking of going to school for. Fast forward when Covid hit I got furloughed and had to get creative so I would still see some of my clients in their home or at my house. By this time I realized that without a good canvas, good skin, the make up didn’t matter. Brows at this point were also so important since everyone was wearing masks. I focused in on connecting with my current and new clients. While I started to learn more about the medical spa field I decided to focus on my own business when I found out I was pregnant with my son. Now that I am a mom I feel even more empowered to serve my hard working moms and dads because sometimes we forget to be the best parent we have to feel best.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, I think nothing is life is easy. Competition is very big in Atlanta and I think now people make it seem its an easy side hustle. As well as not everyone in this industry truly wants you to succeed more than them.
As well as you can never stop learning since there will always be a new trend.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Esthetician with expertise in enhancing natural features through precision brow shaping, lash styling, and skin treatments. My signature style combines precise brow shaping, soft lash enhancement, and customized facials tailored to each client’s skin needs. I am most proud of building connections with women and men from all walks of life and making them feel relaxed, herd and confident to look at themselves in the mirror.
I don’t just “sell” services or products— I educate my clients on what truly suits their features and lifestyle. I give honest advice, even if it means recommending less instead of more.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
It hard to choose what is my favorite memory but it would have to be my 1st Halloween in pre-k. I wanted to be a pretty witch not a scary one.
