Today we’d like to introduce you to Naytika Ibrahim.
Hi Naytika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
“How I became a Microshading Artist”
For me, becoming a microshading artist wasn’t something I planned — it started with a simple love for beauty and the desire to make my mornings easier. Like many women, I wanted natural-looking brows that didn’t require daily effort. After getting my own brows microshaded, I was amazed by how confident I felt. That’s when it clicked: I could do this for other women too.
I’ve always loved enhancing natural features, and when I discovered permanent makeup, I was fascinated by how a subtle change could make such a big difference. Microshading felt like the perfect blend of creativity, precision, and purpose.
At first, I was just curious — watching tutorials, following artists online, and studying different brow shapes. But the more I learned, the more passionate I became. Eventually, I decided to invest in professional training. I’ll admit, when I first picked up that machine, I was nervous. But my husband told me “Don’t let your inner fear interfere”.
It took a lot of practice, patience, and working with models before I gained the confidence to take on clients of my own. But every step was worth it. Now, when I see a client look in the mirror and smile — truly seeing their own beauty — it reminds me exactly why I started.
Microshading isn’t just about brows; it’s about helping women feel beautiful, confident, and ready to face the world — one perfectly shaded brow at a time
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not! Like most journeys worth taking, it hasn’t always been smooth. When I first started, I faced a lot of self-doubt. Holding that machine for the first time was intimidating — I wanted every brow to be perfect, and that pressure can feel overwhelming.
There were times I questioned if I was good enough or if I was moving too slowly compared to other artists I admired. Learning to trust the process was one of my biggest challenges. I had to remind myself that everyone starts somewhere and that skill comes with time, patience, and practice.
Another struggle was balancing everything — training, practicing on models, and managing everyday life. It took real dedication to keep going, even on the days when I felt discouraged. But every time a client left my chair smiling, it reignited my motivation and reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
Looking back, those challenges helped shape me into the artist I am today. They taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in myself — because growth only happens when you push through the hard parts.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a certified microshading artist, and I specialize in creating soft, natural-looking brows that enhance each client’s unique features. My goal is to help women wake up every day feeling confident and beautiful without the stress of drawing on their brows. I truly believe that beauty should feel effortless — and that’s exactly what microshading offers.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come since I first started. It’s amazing to look back and see how my skills, technique, and confidence have grown. Each client I work with reminds me that I’m not just shaping brows — I’m helping shape confidence. There’s no better feeling than seeing someone look in the mirror and light up because they finally see themselves the way they’ve always wanted to.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and my commitment to a natural, customized look. I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” brow — every face is different, and every client deserves a look that complements their unique beauty. I take time to map, measure, and discuss each step with my clients so they feel comfortable and involved throughout the process.
Beyond technique, I care deeply about creating a welcoming and empowering experience. I want every client to leave not just with beautiful brows, but also with a boost of confidence and self-love. For me, this work isn’t just a service — it’s a passion and a way to connect with people on a personal level.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe luck plays a small part, but hard work, faith, and persistence play a much bigger one. I’ve had moments where timing seemed to work in my favor — like finding the right trainer, meeting supportive clients, or connecting with other artists who inspired me. I’d call that “good luck,” but I also think those moments happen when you stay open, positive, and ready to take opportunities when they come.
Of course, there have been challenges, too — times when things didn’t go as planned or when self-doubt crept in. Some might call that bad luck, but I see it as part of the learning process. Every setback has taught me something valuable, whether it’s patience, resilience, or the importance of trusting myself.
So, while I’ve had both good and bad luck along the way, I’ve learned that success isn’t about luck alone — it’s about showing up, staying consistent, and believing in yourself even when things feel uncertain. The harder I work, the “luckier” I seem to get.
