Hi Douglas, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Beauty Bar Wellness & Med Spa has come a long way since its modest beginnings in Conyers more than a decade ago. The business first opened its doors in 2012 as Beauty Restoration Med Spa, with a specialized focus on oncology aesthetics—a niche that set it apart from the start.
By 2017, the spa had outgrown its original concept and space. Owner Mandy Hauptman relocated operations to a loft above Bread and Butter, rebranding as Beauty Bar Med Spa. At the time, she was the sole provider, but demand quickly outpaced capacity.
The expansion continued in 2018, when the spa moved to 1109 Pace Street and broadened its menu to include body contouring with FDA-approved red light technology, as well as injectables. Growth was swift: the team expanded, and soon the business moved again, this time to a larger space at 1122 Pay Street. With more room came more staff, including a dedicated spa manager and several new employees.
Yet, like many small businesses, Beauty Bar Med Spa hit a plateau. By 2022 and into 2023, profits leveled off, and by late 2023 into 2024, the numbers took a downturn.
Faced with these challenges, the team made a bold decision in October 2024. The spa rebranded as Beauty Bar Wellness & Med Spa, shifting its focus to a holistic approach to health and investing heavily in new wellness equipment and services.
The transformation paid off. Over the past year, the spa has seen a resurgence of growth and energy. The team now includes a new doctor and nurse practitioner, and injectables events have doubled in frequency. New offerings include a halo generator salt room for respiratory wellness and certified soundbowl healing for stress reduction.
Perhaps most notable is the introduction of Sub-Zero Cryotherapy, an FDA-approved device for body contouring, facial fine line reduction (Frotox), and advanced weight loss treatments. Beauty Bar has also rolled out physician-supervised peptide weight loss therapy and programs for athletic performance and recovery—a move that puts the spa at the forefront of wellness trends in Newton County and the East Metro area.
As the industry evolves, Beauty Bar Wellness & Med Spa is not just keeping up—it’s setting the pace.
