Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmina Waters.
Hi Jimmina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a heart for helping people grow, especially children and educators. My journey began more than 20 years ago when I entered the classroom with a passion for teaching and a deep belief that education changes lives. Over the years, I’ve taught in multiple roles, from Early Intervention to Special Education, working with students from Pre-K through fifth grade. But along the way, I faced burnout. Like many teachers, I gave everything to my students and left very little for myself. The long hours and emotional demands began to take a toll, and I realized that if I was struggling, other educators were too.
That realization led me to create Oasis Educational Services and the Oasis for Teachers YouTube Channel. I wanted to build a safe, uplifting space where educators could recharge, refocus, and rediscover their purpose beyond the classroom. Through speaking, mentoring, yoga, breathwork, and social-emotional learning, I help teachers achieve wholeness in all five areas of wellness: body, mind, spirit, financial, and relationships. Today, as a wife, mom of four, teacher, and CEO, my mission is to help educators live and lead from a place of peace, purpose, and overflow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth. There were seasons when life felt overwhelming. I went through a divorce and became a single mom of four, trying to balance motherhood, teaching, and simply keeping life together. There were times when the bills didn’t match the paycheck, when I was exhausted from giving everything to my students, and when burnout became a constant companion. Those years taught me strength, perseverance, and the importance of extending grace to myself.
Losing both of my parents was another deep valley that shaped who I am today. Their loss reminded me of how fragile life is and how important it is to slow down, heal, and prioritize what truly matters. Through it all, I discovered that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival. Those experiences became the foundation for Oasis. I wanted to create a space where educators could find what I once needed: restoration, community, and the tools to achieve wholeness in body, mind, spirit, finances, and relationships.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Oasis Educational Services?
Oasis Educational Services was created from my desire to help educators live and teach from a place of peace, balance, and purpose. At Oasis, we focus on the five pillars of wholeness—body, mind, spirit, financial, and relationships—because true wellness for educators goes far beyond the classroom. Through workshops, speaking engagements, mentoring, professional development, yoga, breathwork, and the Oasis for Teachers YouTube Channel, we provide practical tools and inspiration to help teachers prevent burnout, set healthy boundaries, and rediscover joy in both their work and their lives.
What sets Oasis apart is our holistic and heart-centered approach. We see teachers as whole people, not just professionals. Our programs don’t just focus on strategies for instruction but on nurturing the person behind the teacher. I’m most proud that our brand has become a safe and uplifting space for educators to be honest, heal, and grow. Whether it’s a self-care challenge, a teacher retreat, or an encouraging video message, Oasis reminds teachers that they are not alone and that wholeness is possible. My goal is simple: to help educators refill their cups, walk in purpose, and thrive in every area of life.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was taking a trip to Universal Studios with my family. I remember the excitement, the laughter, and how special it felt to experience something new together as a family. My dad was a doctor and a pastor, and my mom stayed at home, creating a warm and loving environment for us. My siblings and I didn’t want for anything. We were blessed to have both parents, and those moments taught me the importance of family, balance, and creating joyful memories together.
