Community Highlights: Meet Teshia Bailey of Chef Teshia Enterprise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teshia Bailey.

Hi Teshia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started cooking from a love of family and Southern food. Over the years I’ve experienced failed business ventures and made many pivots, especially after COVID, but each setback pushed me to grow stronger and smarter as an entrepreneur. What began as small catering jobs evolved into Chef Teshia Enterprise, a full service brand with a food truck, catering, and my own seasoning line called The Legacy Line. I’m now instructing a culinary workforce development program that provides second chance opportunities and helps others build skills for a better future. Every step has been about honoring my roots, feeding my community, and turning passion into purpose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey began with a deep love for food, family, and the feeling of bringing people together through Southern cooking. Over time that passion turned into a business, but it was far from a straight path. I went through failed ventures, financial setbacks, and the emotional weight of grief while trying to build my food truck and keep my dream alive after COVID. Those experiences taught me strength, faith, and the power of starting over. Today, Chef Teshia Enterprise stands as a reflection of that growth, offering catering, a food truck, and my own seasoning line, The Legacy Line. I now teach a culinary workforce development program that creates second chance opportunities and helps others find purpose through food, just as I did.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Chef Teshia Enterprise is built on a foundation of family, faith, and flavor. We specialize in Southern inspired cuisine with a modern twist, offering catering, private chef services, and our own product line, The Legacy Line. What sets us apart is the heart behind our work. Every dish and experience is rooted in storytelling, culture, and community. I am proud to be carrying on my family’s legacy of chefing while helping others discover their own abilities in the kitchen. Through the Culinary Workforce Development Program, we provide second chance opportunities that empower people to shine through food, just as I did.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Outspoken land a hot head. I remember being in trouble a great bit coming up simply for being outspoken and not knowing how to navigate my big personality.
