Today we’d like to introduce you to Montana Merrill.
Hi Montana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started with a love for making people feel beautiful and confident, and that’s really been the foundation of everything since. What began as a passion turned into a full-time career that’s allowed me to meet incredible people and be part of their most special moments. I’ve been working full time in the salon for the past three years, specializing in color and extensions, while also getting to share my love for bridal styling on the side. With a lot of learning, growth, and support from my clients, I’ve been able to build something I’m truly proud of.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. In the beginning, it was a lot of trial and error – building a clientele, learning how to balance work and life, and figuring out who I wanted to be as a stylist. There were slow seasons, self-doubt, and plenty of learning curves, but those moments pushed me to grow and strengthen my skills. Looking back, I’m really thankful for them because they helped shape the stylist and person I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairstylist specializing in color, extensions, and bridal styling. I work full time behind the chair, creating transformations that help my clients feel like the best version of themselves — whether it’s a fresh new color, a confidence-boosting extension install, or a timeless bridal look.
I’m most proud of the business I’ve built and the loyal community that’s grown with me over the years. The trust my clients place in me and the relationships we’ve built are truly the heart of what I do.
What sets me apart is the experience I strive to create — one that’s personal, intentional, and tailored to each individual. I care just as much about how someone feels in my chair as I do about the end result. My goal has always been for every client to leave not only loving their hair, but feeling seen, valued, and confident.
What matters most to you?
What matters to me most is the way people feel when they leave my chair. Of course, beautiful hair is important — but what really means most to me is helping someone feel confident, cared for, and seen. I’ve always believed that how you make people feel lasts far beyond the appointment, and that’s what I try to pour into every client experience. At the end of the day, it’s about connection, kindness, and making a positive impact through what I love to do.
