Exploring Life & Business with Lyndsi Hawkins of Hawkins and Gray Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndsi Hawkins.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for several years, and as my children grew older, I began channeling my creativity into designing our home. What started as a personal passion quickly grew as friends asked for help with their spaces. I began creating and selling custom furniture locally, which opened the door for a full-time career in interior design.

I trained under Micah Abbananto, owner of Micah & Co., whose mentorship was invaluable in shaping my approach to design and client experience. In time, the Lord led me to partner with Brooke Coty, and together we launched Hawkins & Gray Design—a full-service firm built on collaboration, integrity, and a shared commitment to making the design process both inspiring and seamless.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never entirely a smooth road when you’re working to curate an excellent service and client experience. Every project teaches us something new—about design, communication, and refinement. Over time, I’ve realized that the challenges are what shape you most as an entrepreneur. Each struggle builds the strength, wisdom, and resilience needed to serve clients better and lead with greater clarity and purpose.

We’ve been impressed with Hawkins and Gray Design, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hawkins & Gray Design is known for helping clients bring their vision to life—whether they can clearly describe it or are still discovering it along the way. We specialize in full-service residential design and can take you from plans to pillows, guiding every detail from construction to the finishing touches.

Our process is built on clear communication and collaboration with clients, builders, and vendors to ensure the vision comes to life seamlessly. What sets us apart is our ability to make the design process enjoyable and stress-free while creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. At Hawkins & Gray, we believe great design tells your story—and we’re honored to help bring that story home.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Two books that really shaped me early in my business journey were At Your Best by Carey Nieuwhof and Thou Shall Prosper by Rabbi Daniel Lapin. Both offered wisdom on balance, purpose, and the principles behind meaningful success. But ultimately, it’s the Word of God that keeps me centered and motivated—helping me stay focused on honoring Him through my work and trusting His blessing over my business.
