Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonja Roberts.
Hi Sonja, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Four years ago I needed to discover what my calling was. We were all going through the devastations of the pandemic of Covid and I truly wanted to be a service to my family, friends and my community by providing meals to them. I have been a great cook for years and people always seemed to enjoy my meals and dishes so much I stepped out on faith and started my own meal planning services and named the business Boujee Chefs. I started preparing and providing healthy salads choices then great tasting entrees. Then one thing lead to another I found myself providing catered dishes to graduations, birthday parties, businesses in the mero area. One of my biggest events was with the Black Women’s Film Network where I provided hand held appetizers that people could carry into a video room and enjoy screen plays. My reviews were great. I also was delivering meals to incapacitated individuals that needed my services. I have been in business for 4 years strong where I continue to enhance my skills by studying online chefs as well as learning allot from my mom, aunts and anyone that was gifted in the kitchen. I then started creating my own brand shirts for people to order, mixing spoons, as well as mixing bowls for the kitchen. My long term goal is to have my own food truck, but until the. I make working in my kitchen resourceful. I’m proud to say I have serviced many clients that continue to refer my business
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are highs and lows due to the change in economy. I’ve had really balance and budget more and come up with various ideas to keep me afloat. Change menu choices on a regular basis so people won’t get bored of same items. Because I do all the cooking I have to keep myself healthy and work harder at engaging more about my services. I’m also the one who keeps tract of every aspect of the business. I’’m working with churches and some hospitals that may need meals during the holidays for staffing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
