Today we’d like to introduce you to Ta-Kara Rutledge.
Hi Ta-Kara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In my journey I have faced a variety of obstacles that have truly shaped who I am today. Financial challenges have been a significant part of my story, pushing me to develop creativity and resilience in the face of adversity. These experiences taught me the importance of resourcefulness and the power of community support. Alongside these financial hurdles, I’ve navigated personal growth challenges, including periods of anxiety and the journey of learning to pace myself. Embracing my Esther Year, I’ve discovered the value of balance and self-compassion, allowing me to grow stronger and more centered.
Balancing my roles as a wellness advocate, entrepreneur, and mother has been a journey in itself. Through carefully crafted routines and a commitment to self-care, I’ve learned how to integrate all these aspects into a fulfilling and balanced life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work sits at the intersection of creativity, wellness, and community care. I create nourishing experiences, whether through intimate gatherings, wellness offerings, or sacred self-love practices. From a young age I’ve been drawn to bringing people together — organizing events, community outings, back-to-school drives, networking spaces for Black-owned businesses, and home-based gatherings rooted in connection and belonging. That instinct to curate meaningful environments has evolved into the work I do today: creating spaces for healing, reflection, and feminine restoration.
The impact of my work comes through helping women soften, reconnect with themselves, and remember their worth. Whether I’m developing wellness rituals, hosting workshops, or crafting spiritual tools like journals and self-love kits, my goal is to create experiences that feel safe, grounding, and soul-nourishing. I am most proud of the way I’ve continued to build community through love, intention, and authenticity — not from a stage, but from the heart, one sacred space at a time.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I am deeply grateful to the many individuals who have inspired and supported me along my journey. First and foremost, I honor the Creator of all things and my beloved mother, Jean Rutledge, whose love and strength continually inspire me. I also cherish the legacy of my aunt, Rosa Shariff and my aunt Johnnie Mae James, whose memory lives on in my work. My godmother, Evelyn Woodham was such big supporter of anything I did. My uncle, Raymond Rutledge, was a pillar of support, guiding me with his wisdom and entrepreneurial spirit. I am also thankful for dear friends like Hayafah Ruach and Alena Owens, and Yael Yisrael who have been unwavering sources of peace and guidance. Currently, I am blessed to be mentored by Mrs. Pamela Howard, whose soulful guidance is invaluable both personally and professionally.
