Community Highlights: Meet Torri Walnoha of RANTZ Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Torri Walnoha.

Hi Torri, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Photography hasn’t always been my career, but has ALWAYS been a passion of mine and the name “RANTZ” is an acronym for my Mother (Robin) and my children. I started with my digital camera at twelve, I learned the basics and as I got older I started expanding my editing knowledge by trying out different platforms. I then took a job with a photography company that does bulk photography for leagues and a few of the Master Photographers took me under their wings when they saw my potential and helped fill in the missing pieces. I owe so much gratitude to that WHOLE TEAM! Because of the knowledge they taught me on top of the ENDLESS hours of studying on my own, I have successfully been able to build my company from the ground up.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Is anything a smooth road? Lol! It has not been a smooth road if you include personal tribulations that are not entirely related to photography, but for the most part it has been very smooth I learned fast. My management knowledge from past jobs has absolutely helped on the business side, and I absolutely LOVE my new clients I get to meet! I love networking with other businesses as well because anything is more possible with a group of like minded individuals.

I started RANTZ because I lost my mom unexpectedly.. She taught me to go after my dreams no matter what, and she ALWAYS believed in me. She taught me to not worry about the “small bumps” and to continue to work on the end goal.

With that being said, I correlate all “small bumps” to learning curves and to something that I need to spend a little more time on understanding. There’s always more to learn.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about RANTZ Photography?
I would say that I am known for portrait, wedding and event photography. It is safe to say that I have shot just about every type of photography genre there is because I was learning and mastering my craft. I also shoot competitive paintball which gives me even further reach on my capabilities of capturing moments fast and unexpectedly.

My versatility and compassion for my art is what sets me apart from others. The lengths I am willing to go to capture that beautiful moment that my clients desire is endless! I make personal connections by having continuous communication with everyone to ensure they are confident and their moment will be memorable! I send out tip lists to help my clients understand how our session will go, I help my clients find their perfect location for photos, I offer help on what looks best to wear, and even props to bring. I offer this in more detail for my weddings as well as time line help for how the day will go.

I am actually launching a “RANTZ Reloaded” line to cater some merch to the paintball community. The design is something I personally came up with as well!

I pride myself on being able to accommodate just about any type of budget because I don’t think being able to cherish a memory should be unaffordable!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My Mother taught me everything I know about being resilient and never giving up. Without her teachings and protection, I do not know where I would be today! My kids, they are why I have worked so hard to get to where I am now. My husband as well, He has stayed by my side through everything. I definitely cannot forget the Master Photographers at the company I also work for! They taught me how to operate equipment and not just take a photo.

Last but not least, My Granny and my siblings. They never stopped believing in me and always helped me push forward.
