Today we’d like to introduce you to Miya Sadé.
Miya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started when I was about 6-7 years old. I grew up in a singing and performing type of family. My grandma and great grandma are blues singers and my uncle is a pop locker/Soul Train dancer from back in the day! So it definitely got passed down to me. I used to sing and watch Micheal Jackson a lot when I was younger. He inspired me to this day. My grandmother used to make me practice the star spangled banner because she knew I would be a star one day. Fast forward I’ve always loved dancing and singing growing up. I actually put my singing career on pause for a little while when I was younger because I wanted to become a professional dancer. I’ve trained with a lot of cool people here in ATL Ga. But shortly after I graduated high school I decided that I wanted to take my singing career to the next level and I began working on expanding my music. I dropped my first a ever single “A Vibe” and it did so well and now I am here on my latest single “Indecisive”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely NOT been a smooth road for me. Life has been lifeing hard and I’ve even sometimes had thoughts asking myself if this is all even worth it. But I know that this music is IN me and I could NEVER let it go no matter how much I think I could!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer. I am performing artist. I am a dancer. I am also excited to start getting into acting one day. I honestly love anything in the arts that pertain music and personality. Being authentic with my outgoing personality is what I feel best separates me from others.
